hi there,
having been a resident of firth park on and off for the biggest part of my life i wonder if anyone could help with a little bit of history regarding the previous owners of the houses from numbers 50-56 on hucklow road.---the further back the better.most grateful for any help.:)

Which ones are they? Those big houses?

One of my schoolfriends lived there around the early 1980s, before they moved away (to Rivelin, I think...)

Or do you want to go back further in history :D

yes theyre the ones near vickers drive as you go towards the flats---any dates will do!--any names etc and the number they lived at.

The even side is not listed in 1925

There is a good series of street directories in the Local Studies Library; you can probably check the occupancy from the time they were built.

Hucklow Road does not exist on a 1905 OS map - except that the southernmost part seems to have been a footpath.

In White's 1919/20 Trade Directory, only the addresses 67-73 (odd) are listed.

The numbers you enquire about were built in 1933/34
