I'm currently studying Event Managemet at Sheffield Hallam University and next year I'm looking to do a Placement. I was just wondering if there were any vacancies at nightclubs or event planning companies. I am hoping to keep within the music side of events but would be open to anything really, just to get the experience

hi i did this at university too i graduated in november just gone.

i did my placement in america but if you are wanting to stay in the sheffield area have you got in contact with any local hotels or with the arena atc as they do events and may have positions for you to help in alhough it may mean you wil have to do other areas in the business to fill the full year especially if you go to work in a hotel. however if you do apply for a hotel or enquire at a hotel make it a point that your main interest is the events but explain that you are flexible to work in other areas this may give you more options.
