Did any one see the article in yesterdays Daily express regarding the family from Newcastle, who had 15 kids and got nearly £49,000 on benefits, that was not including council tax, perscriptions, rent, oh and the use of a Ford focus (which is Mobility scheme) they are not disabled but the the wife's mother is.

the paper stated that to get the same as they got on benefits, a WORKING person would have to earn around £74,500. which is more than three times the average british salary. these people get £48,840 per month in benefits!!!

It seems to me that these people are just fleecing the Tax payers, I mean who in their right mind would have 15 kids??? Sh has had 7 miscarriges and has plans to continue having children .these people are just lazy, good for nothing's!

we have two Kids and we both work, I work around 30 hours per week and my husband often works a 50 hour week to support our family.

I think that benefits should be made available for six months on six off unless there is a genuine reason for not being able to work, then these people would have to sort them selves out! There is a lot of support out there now, working family tax credit, this would mean he was contributing to support his family. Do they have no pride?

TAKE CONTROL OF YOUR LIFE AND STOP SPONGING FROM US!!!

One of the major problems is the benefits system in that it can often allow people to be better off (or close to) without working. I can never imagine not working! We also have the NHS so if someone is ill they are treated free of charge. In the USA you are not, you either worek and pay Insurance or you do not get treated (Obviouysly there are exceptions).

Personally IMO i'd like to see the number of children you receive benefits for capped at possibly two or three. Any more after that should be paid for by the parents through work.

And how do they manage to keep frisky? have you sen them both :gag:

You read something in the daily express and you think it is true?

This is typical claptrap which they print every week. And on occasion when the rest of the media or a local MP are forced to follow up the story, they find it is exaggerated beyond belief.

I agree with you that the Express and the mail do tend to exagerate stories to incense their (mainly) middle class readership, however this story appeared in all the dailys Friday and Saturday.

I agree with youwhatref, Benefits should be capped to two or three kids and the bit regarding keeping frisky!! lol

No, just no... FFS this kind of thing really gets my goat! It's people like these that make getting benefits for people like myself, somewhat akin to pulling teeth and/or getting blood out of a stone..

So the wife's Mum is disabled, fair enough, let HER do all the messing about and form filling etc to claim benefit, the family themselves shouldn't get all the help.. :loopy:

But alas the system is so f***ed up they clearly don't know what they're doing, and letting people who clearly don't need the money have benefits while people like me, struggle against the system and have to answer stupid questions on long winded forms etc to get a penny off 'em, it beggars belief at times.. :loopy:

It would be interesting to know if the 4 people who have said "if the money there they should take it and the one that said they love paying tax are on benefits or if they have ever paid Tax.
