I am an avid Chelsea fan and I am looking forward to this afternoons match. Not because I think that it will be a walkover for Chelsea but because it will be Wigans 1st home match in the Premiership with the added bonus of playing against last seasons Premier winners. I hope the Wigan fans enjoy an exciting day out and I'm sure their side will do them proud.
All the best.

I don`t think Wigan will be pushovers, they have the money and backing and to be in the Premiership is a dream come true for them.

A draw would be good for them.

Maybe they might be the "Everton" team this year.

they may have money, but thats all they have. players dont want to join them as they are a small town club.
they bought promotion from both div one and two, i remember when they used to get crowds of 4000, but since whelan has come in, he has splashed the cash, and he believes it will pay dividends, i on the other think that is wrong. they have not really bought anyone this summer that shows to me they willmake any mark on the premiership.

same appliesfor sunderland,. i can see mick mccarthys logic in buying some of the best players from the chamionship, but none are proven at this level really, and to get 10 players to gel straight away is going to prove difficult.

Well, I for one will be shouting for the underdogs.

What a fab draw for Wigan's first Premiership game and I do wish them all the best.

However, my punting side expects a 2-goal Chelsea advantage @ 1.98

THought Wigan were a little out played in the second half but didn't deserve to lose.

Chelski only won 1-0 ---bahahaha! :) :)
With their team of superstars !?!

If they keep that up this season, I think the title maybe going elsewhere.

I'm sure Man U will have one or two slip ups this season. The difference between Man U and Chelsea is that Chelsea can play badly and still win, whereas Man U don't really do that any more.

Still, season is very young.......

We can't forget that Mike Pollitt was in goal for Wigan.

Almost kept a clean sheet against Chelsea in his first game after leaving Rotherham United. Hope he has a good season!
