Hello, it would seem that all the existing craft groups in sheffield are full to bursting and not taking on anymore members. I am very interested in starting a group up (possibly in Walkley) where we can meet and exchange skills and support etc, with the potential to do fairs and exhibitions and workshops. What I want to know is 'is there any other people like me?' please let me know if you are interested so we can get something going!

i know what you mean - only group accepting people that i've managed to find is a knitting group in millhouses. Its great but I do lots more crafts so a more general crafting group would be great

I would be very interested, I have so many unfinished projects on the go. It would give me the perfect excuse to get them finished!

Hi, mainly wanting a sociable spot and only really painting and drawing by habit but i've been finding the opposite to yourselves. There are not full clubs, I cannot even find clubs. One in Heeley, one in Dore for artists, yes maybe full but too far from me anyway being the artistic don't drive there on my own just to fit it in type.

There's the Walkley Art group. They've just had an exhibition at the Millenium Galleries. If you contact the Freedom Road committee they have members in common I think. Also, if you do start something I'd be interested.

hi - so i'd really like us to try and get this up and running.

any ideas on venue and the best day/time/frequency for people?

also suggestions on how people would like this to work would be great -e.g. themed evenings for particular crafts or free for all etc

I would be really interested in attending a Walkley craft group. I know there are art classes but they are during the day and that does not suit thoes who work 9-5!

An evening or weekend group would be fab. Every couple of weeks would probably work quite well.
