Hi I was just wondering if I could do a little poll on here about suggestions for your top three films of all time, any genre, any format...?

My selections change all the time as new films come along but three will always be there.
Star Wars, episode 4( The 1977 classic)
ET. ( I was eleven when I saw it and I cried.)
Blade Runner. (Commercial flop but still cult classic.)
It's interesting to see shawshank redemption and The Green Mile featured in more than one list. Frank Darabont certainly did a great job. They're the best adaptations ever.

Halloween (original)
Shawshank Redemption

The first 2 were very easy for me to choose... the 3rd one is impossible for me to decide so will have to stick to my 'Top 2'.
And yes they are in order of preference.

Should have never read this thread as now i'll be debating in my head the 3rd film for hours! :help:

Nope, change that;

Dune
English Patient
Unforgiven

Yes I'm indecisive, my top 10 movies of all time has about 50 films in it.

Aaaagh - just saw this thread so I had to reply. Isn't this just about an impossible choice?. How on earth can you narrow it down to just 3 movies :-) ??.

Here goes:

Shawshank Redemption.

School for Scoundrels (definitely the original. the recent one was pants) - chosen bacause I love older british comedy - I'm Alright Jack, Hobson's Choice, Ladykillers etc

Downfall. So many other foreign movies I love, but waiting to see Bruno Ganz come on screen as Hitler was like waiting to see the first CG dinosaur make its appearance in Jurassic Park!.

Now what about David Leane's Great Expectations, Citizen Kane, The Matrix, Aliens, The Italian job (original of course), Lives of Others, Changeling, Dirty Harry, Serenity, The Birds, Rope, Rear Window, Full Metal Jacket, 2001, Laurel and Hardy shorts, Day of the Jackal (original), The Station Agent, Volver, Get Carter (original) and needless to say, Where Eagles Dare :-)!!.

This is difficult, so many to pick from. After much deliberation, i'm going to go with:
At no.1 - To Kill a Mockingbird
At no.2 - Anchorman
At no.3 - Inside Man...or Sleepy Hollow?...no, Inside Man...or is it?...
