Absolutely brilliant. We actually did it in school in music. I could never see the movie that's just come out because it won't be the same without this brilliant music.

I only discovered it about six years ago after playing War of the Worlds on my old PlayStation. The game was pretty good, but the music blew me away.

I recently took it to work to listen too. It's the quietest we've worked in years. Absolutely brilliant!

I am afraid that that single is a right pile of pants. The only good bits are the origonal bits, and the constant drumbeat over the beggining is just totally annoying.

I want to hear a full unadulterated version of "Eve of war" and I want a full symphony orchestra.. No remixing thankyou very much.

In a similar Vein,
the BBC once (20 years ago +) did robin Hood with a full backing track by Clannad, which was simulcast on RADIO1 at the same time as it was shown on the TV.

That was absolutely F****** awesome. There is no way on earth I would ever watch a hollywood version of robin hood after that. How could it ever be bettered. Brian adams? I'd like to snap his arms of and stuff them up [censored because we care about you lovely people in Sheffield forum land]

Its great!!

I give it 10 Ulla's out of 10 Ulla's

Got the original double LP when I was about 10 and last week bought the new remastered version.

The difference is amazing!!

Cannot wait for the animated film when it comes out in 2007.

Absolutely fantastic.

Leave it in the car and next time you're in a two hour traffic jam (probably tomorrow) you'll not get bored.

Infact, it is THE place to listen to it as the remastered CD sounds magnificent. The Ullas' final death cries are quite scary and Forever Autumn is a beautiful song.

I've got the LP version. I played it last year to a few mates. After the first 20 minutes I remembered how much I hated it and was praying for the Martians to win.

I spent a couple of hours editing out a lot of the musical noodling from the 2 CD version so it would fit on 1 CD.

We listened to it in the car on the way to our summer holiday - great!

Stuck behind a crash on Boxing Day a few years ago we played our usual game of 'radio station lottery' and came up with (I think) BRMB who had just started an unbroken transmission of the whole thing- what a great diversion when stuck in the car.

BTW when the trams first started running they tested them in the dead of night and they used to wake me up. My mum asked me what they sounded like, and was one of few people who would understand the answer- 'they sound like a martian capsule unscrewing'.
