I don't know whats happened to my keyboard but if I want an @ sign, I have to press shift and 2 and vice versa if I want the " sign.

I only noticed this yesterday and have looked at my keyboard settings but to no avail.

What have I done?

It seems you have somehow changed your keyboard to the American layout. There should be a setting to rectify this in the Control panel under "keyboard", or "Reigonal and Language Settings".
