i have nothing against derek but i can't believe derek acorah has conned so many people and ended up with a tv program "most haunted" and books.is it just me or does anyone else think it's all just a load of crap!! that is my opinion anyway, not that i am mocking anyone who believes in that stuff. i have noticed that i am only getting feedback from people who are criticising him, i want both sides of the story. i dont want my opinion to influence any of your opinions or actions in any way. although i have no belief in dereks spiritual powers that doesnt mean i count out the supernatural all together infact i am quite open minded.

Friend of mine went to one of the live shows and heard them planning that when Derek goes into his trance they will come back into the studio.

He's pretty much the perfect example of the bogus psyhic that most people have in their minds and he hits all the right notes with his "spirit guide", asking to have his predictions and insights verrified by the rest of the crew and then changing his mind when he's wrong and being so vague he could be talking about a Ben Affleck movie rather than the subject at hand...he's a silver-haired charlatan who should be hung from his heels and pelted with rotten vegetables at the next Most Haunted Live.

I used to listen sometimes when he was on the radio, and he was very very careful of what he was saying on there in general. But I genuinely believe that he deludes himself into thinking that he has this special power, and all the little old ladies who go to his shows want to believe it too.
As usual all his advice is things which can never be verified, and so vague that things are likely to be true or happen anyway.

It's a conjuring trick for the simple minded..

That "most haunted" programme, or whatever it's called is a total joke though, I don't know how anybody can take it seriously. It is trash television and it makes me vom..

Derek has come up with some pretty good evidence that the things he talks about are real. He has also said some things that i find complete trash. I feel it is unfair to call him a liar and a fake without proof. You wouldnt call a Vicar a fake and claim that he/she was being fed information via an earpiece.

vicars get their information from the bible, they dont claim that a spirit is talking to them. i dont see how you can compare the two :loopy: i do agree however that we have no proof and cant claim things without evidence.

Derek has now left most haunted,living tv have rearanged the new series to quickly "use up" the episodes in which he appears, he will still be on screen though,he is under contract to do two more live episodes.
He has had a falling out with the rest of the team,and they have simply stopped believing in what he says.
He was apparently "set up" on a live episode,two staff at the venue were chatting within earshot of derek about a ficticious spirit,(think it was derby gaol,and the spirit was a south african jailer) anyway,the staff made up this story and sure enough derek used it later in the show,pretending to be possesed by the spirit of an evil jailer.
A new medium will be appearing later in this current series.
Got other stuff i could tell you about most haunted,but would hate to spoil it for anyone

it's impossible even if these things were real to fit them into a shooting schedule so nicely.

If Accorah claims to be a psychic the onus should be on him to prove it, not on the audience to disprove it. That's the difference between what goes on while the Most Haunted cameras are rolling and what a real scientific investigation entails.

All these clowns do is wander around abandoned manor houses and scare themselves silly by sitting in the dark after subjecting Accorah's so-called insights to no more scrutiny than having the "historian" nod in agreement.

If an impartial outside observer was brought in to verify these "experiences" and "findings" I'd put money on the fact that they'd be pretty unimpressed with Accorah and the whole operation.

It's simple entertainment and Accorah's nothing more mystical than a stage magician or hypnotist.

Derek Acorah is deffinatly the real thing, personally I wouldn't go on TV and publist loads of books if it was all an act, it would be too risky!! And I wouldn't make up stuff about my nanan being a medium if she wasn't!!! And also when he gets possesed some of the voices he does like the accents are really real and it would be hard to act such accents, which also leads me to believe he is real!!!!

What I want to know is if people think derek is being fake what about David Wells??

And so is the most haunted show after what me and mates saw on a live web cam and even thoe it was said by loads people in the most haunted forum it was never said on the tv itself.
Since then i not liked the program since and never belive Derek, i think he get possed to try harm Yvette and not get done with it as i too hear they fell out not so long ago:hihi:

Well was not only me and mates that saw this but also few said it in the forum.But in a live link in a army bunker they did a trap.And 5 mins before they was sopose to see if any thing moved.We saw a bloke move some stuff on table.I thought it was me but even mates pm me and ask if i see what they see.and it was on the forum that other people saw this too,so i think it one crew that moved it as i say it was not said in the program it self even thoe people did say they email about someone/thing moveing the objects.

Once when watching on the live webcam, you could see them rehearsing the next "scene".
Alot of mh is scripted,........but i don't think the actual show is fake (nothing to fake?) was once told by a member of the team that some apparent paranormal activity was ommited from the final programme due to fear of the public not believing it...they do seem to want to be seen as fair and honest.......Hence the reason why Derek "music hall" acorah will be gone by october.

Has anyone noticed.....derek appears to have been possesed a lot less these days.......that is part of the reason the crew have lost faith in him,sometimes when he got "possesed" before you could see yvette roll her eyes as if to say "god not again"

I should point out i'm not actually a fan of MH ,it's just that i'm a good listener!!

I'd have a great deal more time for Accorah if, just once, there was a location where he didn't sense a ruddy thing.

I've mused on this one myself and have come to ask the following questions:

1. Why does Yvette alternate from begging the spirits to manifiset in an overly sweet wheedling tone one moment and then start to bark orders at whatever's out there and demand that it show itself as she's not afraid of it...is this some kind of parapsychologocal "good cop/bad cop" routine?

2. Why does Yvette claim to want to see the manifestations and proclaim that she's not afraid when the sound of a mouse sneezing makes her wet her knickers on air?

3. If you were a tortured spirit doomed to wander the earthly plane with no hope of salvation in whatever afterlife you believed in during life, what could be worse than to have that misery compounded by Derek Accorah and Yvette Fielding turn up, the former spouting spurious toss about you and the latter alternatly demanding you show yourself and then screaming all the ruddy time? Purgatory suddenly sounds real good, doesn't it?!?

Please tell me what you think. He drives me mad on Most Haunted, think he makes the whole show unbelievable.

I've watched Most Haunted sometimes, because my mum does - she loves that kinda thing. I didn't see the episode, but my mum said about an episode where they were at Blackpool Tower & Derek was saying about a ghost saying "I'm burning, I'm burning" but then they found out no one had died in a fire so he changed it to "I'm Ernie" or something & mum thought it was funny cos it was like he was saying "I'm earning, I'm earning" (earning money to con people). I dunno, I can't really judge the guy, but I suppose it does seem like he's fake. I liked it when Jason Karl was on it, I've met him twice!
