i've looked at a few places eccalsall road and division street but i dont think tey are the best places to start up.

No disrepect but it depend on how good you and your staff are. Good locations demand high rents. You also need to consider fitout costs which will get more expensive the more upmarket you are trying to go. All of which, at the end of the day, will have to be passed onto your customer.

If you have better stylists (most important), more inviting shop, in the same location as the competition, then you could really open up anywhere. Customers are only loyal until they find something better or sometimes cheaper.
