Does anyone know what sort of restrictions there are on student type properties? Me and some friends have just finished uni and are hoping to stay in the area for the same sort of rent... is that possible or will letting agents not rent those sort of properties to non-students?

Cheers.

I avoid 'agents' like the plague, but in my experience landlords don't really care who they're letting to (as long as they pay up on time)
I've just finished uni and am stayng in Broomhill now.

Do you mean the apartment/halls type of things? If so, probably not, but if you're in a 'student house' you will easily find something similar

If your'e no longer students and have jobs you'll probably find that rent is a bit cheaper as student landlords know that students are desperate to find houses and will pay a lot for them. Try looking at estate agents rental properties, they rent out the whole house rather then basing it on room prices, if theres a lot of you this often works out cheaper.

We were looking at houses and discovered that while students pay 45+ per week in 'student' houses, if we rented a 3 bed house from an estate agent between 4 of us it worked out at around 30 per week!

Remember you will have to pay council tax now though!

Where were you looking for? I know of a 3 double bed house- brand new carpets, furniture and kitchen near northern general - S4, letting for £450 pcm
