What do you recommend? . . I feel in the mood for a good horror tonight but need your help choosing.:help:

devils rejects look a decentish film....

I've heard mixed reviews about it though Robbie.

My personal favourite is Evil Dead 3 although that was not an option. :o

The descent is meant to be good.

Well whatever you do, DONT see Dark Water, i saw it the other week and its one of the worst films ive ever seen in my life, and thats saying something.

Dark water - I've heard it's abit like the grudge?...all shadows and spooky music.

The Skeleton Key is in the lead so far, this was my initial favourite but will wait a tad longer to see what y'all think.

The descent is great. But if your thinking of going caving some time after don't cause you won't ever gunna what to go caving again.

Don't see hide and seek, it's crap!

Yeah Devils Rejects was fab - really good camerawork and loved the cop - had to go and buy House of 1000 Corpses [the first film] afterwards to compare story lines - its a pity they didnt do anything with Dr Satan - seems to have been forgotten about - anyway the films fab ! Oh I said that already... and Sheri Moon - my god is she gorgeous !

Skeleton Key is pretty darned good - decent plot and twist at the end.

Saw those two films and also Herbie [brought back some memories !] and Stealth last saturday. Stealth is much better than the trailers would suggest, and although it reminded me of Firefox, the characters were better and as for the special FX - I was really believing in places that the thing was there and flying itself :thumbsup:

Tomorrow I'm watching The Island, Bad News Bears and Wedding Crashers :P

Week after that is Bewitched [19 Aug] and the week after that on the 26 Aug I'm seeing The Cave [looks WAY better than The Descent...] and Dukes of Hazzard [Jess Simpson in hotpants - what more do I need to say ? Have a look @ the video on the thread on this film if you need a look :heyhey: ]

Ooooh forgot to say - if you see Devils Rejects it's worth watching the fly-by over the scenery at the end of the film when the credits are rolling - its really beautiful to say the least :P

Devils Rejects is a 'splatterhouse' flick, so not really horror, just gruesome.

Dark Water is a terrible remake of a great Japanese ghost story (rent the Jap version instead)

The Descent was a huge disappointment. Watch the first hour, then walk out before it turns all cliche! I expected much better from the maker of Dog Soldiers.

Skeleton Key is a slow paced ghost story - and is only worth watching the last 20 mins of.




I agree with the earlier statement that there hasn't been a good horror film in ages, although would alter it to "there hasn't been a good non-eastern horror film in ages"

dont believe the hype of all the other films on the poll. people just see the ads and think they look great. the devils rejects would be my choice, i have seen his first film "house of 1000 corpses" and thought it was brilliant so this one should be good to.

I actually went to see 'The Skeleton Key' as it was on at the right time for me - it was a very slow moving story. A good film but not very frightening.

If the old lady was more scary and a tad younger then it might have made it abit scarier - but to be honest, having an elderly lady chasing you round a house is not very scary.

The ending was good, a nice twist reminiscent of 'The Others'.

It would have been better if the 3 muppets sat next to us - hadn't decided to turn up half way through the film and sit there eating and talking and playing with their mobiles all the time. . . Why do gits like this always ruin a film!!!:rant:
