This is one of those threads that shows how i really need to get out more but:

How long does your dog sit for in a day? I made the observation today whilst having a brew that Pippa spends hardly anytime sat down. If she isn't playing in the garden or on walks, she is lying down whether is be in her bed/on my knee etc.

Do all dogs do this? Or is it just Pippa thats lazy?

Number 1 boxer sits upright on the sofa necking out of the front room window, probably for 10 - 15 minutes a couple of times a day. None of the others sit for any noticebale length of time, except dog treat time.

Oh yeah-she sits when potential treats could be had. But even then she gets bored after a few minutes and lies down!

Boxer number 2 even lays in the porch whilst waiting for his lead to be put on, talk about idle.

Ours is a right lazy beggar and is always lying down he will sit for about 10 seconds per day (but only if there is a treat around)

Is there a reason why do you know? Is sitting uncomfortable for them-or are they a bunch of lazies?

without sounding crude, for some breeds it's uncomfy for intact males to sit for long...
