Is there anywhere I can get an MOT at the weekend in Sheffield? Preferably S5. Never had to have one before so if it is a silly question dont laugh :D First two places I tried are only open during the week.

Don't kwik fit do them? Give them a ring first thing tomorrow morning and see if they can fit you in.

Look in www.yell.co.uk for one near you or do a supersearch under MOT and see which garages do them who are open on Saturdays.

Thanks for the tips. It's not "this" weekend just a weekend sometime soon.

I'd use DOT MOT on a Saturday morning. Based at Olive Grove. They only do MOT's and not repairs hence why i'd recommend them.

And nearby to there is TOP TREAD TYRES, St Marys Road. Used them for the last 3 years £20 (might have gone up to £25 now) with a free retest (within 7 days) and they have always been very fair - 4 cars, 2 passes - 2 fails, but never anything that I wasn't expecting.

How come some places that are open saturdays looked at me like I'd asked to strangle their cat when I wanted to book my car in for next weekend? I know it's a bank holiday but how should I know they will be shut on the saturday. I got told I was trying to catch them out at one place, eh :loopy:

If you do choose kwik fit, book it online and you get it for £25, which is 40% off the full price apparently. You just leave your details and they ring you to book a date about 30 mins later (or they did with me anyway)

I live in S5 and always go to thorncliffe garage at chapeltown, they do MOT on a saturday, I ad mine done there last saturday

I took my motor to Garrison motors, ( a Peugeout franchised garage) on Penistone Rd, Sat morning, they did a service and MOT for £99, and stamped my service book, that's got to be a good deal! £99 for a service is a good price these days, so with the test it's a good deal if you ask me!:thumbsup:
