I have some AVI files that I have downloaded from my digital camera that I want to put onto CD or DVD.
The problem is that they will not play on my DVD player as an AVI file.
Can anybody adv me of what format they need to be in and how to convert them.......Cheers

Wrong forum mate, we have a computer help board here :D

Now for the helpful stuff, what you need to do is convert the AVIs to MPEG files, there's loads of converters and other stuff on Download.com (http://www.download.com).

Hope that helps.

If you are wanting to play them on your DVD player then maybe you can try something like this (http://www.download.com/VSO-DivXtoDVD-Converter/3000-7970_4-10376028.html?tag=lst-0-4)

Or just do what I did and buy an all singing all dancing multi-region DVD player for £40 from WH Smiths that plays absolutely EVERYTHING, MP3s, MPEGs, DivX, Photo CDs, DVD+ and - R/RW.. The lot.

It's a Cyberhome one you want, go on WH Smiths web site (http://www.whsmith.co.uk) for further details.

Here (http://www.whsmith.co.uk/WHS/Go.asp?isbn=00956451&DB=320&Menu=Stationery)'s the one you want, but it appears they're sold out at present :(
