Split topic - have you ever had a tarot card reading? Have you ever had an online tarot card reading?
Simple question. I do not care if you believe in the tarot or not. Maybe you just did it for fun or cos a load of your friends were having the cards read for them.
If you have - what did you think about it, and did any of it come true?

Had one done at a mall about five years ago. The woman told me that we would have a child within the following two years, I would get my dream job and we would be relocating to a place with large mountains next to the ocean.
How well did she do?
For the cost of going to see a movie, we had happy thoughts for the rest of day. However we have no kids, I did'nt get my dream job and still no mountains or ocean. :)

Dude your name is the same as your location - creepy! Lucky you don't come from broadbottom!!
Where is chicago, sheffield? Is it near meersbrook Tennessee?
Or Alabanner cross?
I've had countless tarot readings. One day I came to my senses and realised that I was paying good money for tripe.
If you want a tarot reading, I can give you one. I charge just £10 and have had no complaints. £10 is good value when you compare that with what other people charge, you know...

My lack of imagination has been challanged! (...most of the cool names were already taken and it was easy to remember. )

i have had one tarot card reading back in 1984 but she only told me what i had told myself with doing my own reading that my uncle was going to die. but doing your own reading is not very good as you can make more mistakes.
i used to do tarot card reading and was right on a lot of things i told people. i knew my brother in laws wife was cheating on him or going to cheat but i didnt say anything just told her to watch out that someone was trying to come between her and him which soon after they split up. i told a couple of people that they were going to have a baby. i never charged anyone it was all done for free as they were friends and family. i also used to do astrology readings free one person told me that i was more acurate than the professional astrologer she had paid £20 to [this was about 20 years ago]astrology reading are very time consuming and i can understand why they charge the amount they do for the readings but tarot card readings do not take as much time and they can be done without the person being present usualy it is a good idea to get them to hold the cards and to select them. i did this once while at work as i could not do the reading there i took the cards let them choose there cards then did their reading at home. i had noticed the first card and asked him if someone had left the family circle recently and he said not that he knew of and i told him that all will be clearer in the reading when i went back into work a few days later one of his relatives had died.i have never done a reading as to someone not holding the cards but it would be good to do a test to see if it is possable to read the cards that way. but i have not done a reading for must be 14 years now. had a bad bought of depression and found i could not concentrate properly

If you are good at giving readings then it is a shame a bout of depression has made you give up. May be worthwhile you having another go at it.
My depression had the adverse effect in that I hardly touched the tarot before, but since - reading the cards has become much much easier and more accurate.
There are many people out there who desire true readings, and then there are those who just want a chat and reassurance that things are going to be okay. That is for you to judge.
For those of you who do not know better - reading the tarot is not memorizing the little booklet of meanings you get with a deck, or absorbing the translations from a dozen books on the topic. Sure you can tell people what you see - but accuracy - hmmmm!!! Add to that the fact that most decent books will tell you - the meaning of a card depends greatly upon where it appears in a spread - which is a lot of different meanings for one card.

hi dragon
glad your depression gave you more insight with the cards probably helped you to feel better as well mine just made me feel worse as i did a few readings while i was feeling low and they were very depressive readings and i felt it was down to how i was feeling so i thought i had better not do anymore while i was feeling better but then my dad died so sudenly and thought that i should have known it was going to happen, i had worked out by astrology that he should have had a few more years with us and got it wrong.then a month later to the day my sister inlaws hubby died and i had worked out that either she her hubby or ex hubby would die in a few years time and had been out by a few years, i had not told her its something i would not have done but it made my depression worse i then stated looking into every factor in astrology of when any of the family might die so that if thy became ill i could get them to have a checkup quick to try to prevent it happening morbid or what then to the stage i didnt want to know and packed all my astrology and tarot cards away as i was getting obsessed with death.

I've only ever had one Tarot card reading, and that was about eighteen months ago. I'd not had one done before, partly because I was a bit nervous of the idea itself, partly because I wanted to go to someone I could trust.
I've been into Astrology for years, but somehow Tarot's always seemed more esoteric to me, and therefore I'm a lot more wary of it, personally.
But it was at a time of a lot of change in my life, when I felt I could use some guidance, even if it was just talking things through with someone completely independent from my life. As it turned out, the reading was absolutely spot-on - she identified everything of major concern to me and suggested possible ways forward.
It was quite freaky how much she seemed to know about my life, but for some reason, I found that reassuring, not spooky. She immediately homed in on my most important concern, and echoed my thoughts about it. I've followed her main piece of advice, and have found my life has really opened up and become much more interesting and enjoyable as a result.
I'd definitely be happy to see her again for another reading in the future.
I'd only want a reading done in person though, not on the telephone or online, but that's just me. I would want to shuffle the cards myself. I don't pretend to have any idea about how it works, but personally I felt that my having physical contact with the cards was very important.
Just my thoughts and experiences.
Hope it's of use.
