The Star Wars series of films was a struggle of the original republic and the Jedi council, and then the rebellion fighting against the forces of the evil Empire.

You have to remember that they didn't do it to tell a story and make a point, they did it to make money :) Do they sell their own "3d screensaver" by any chance? (I guess it's more that they have to protect their copyright before someone actually starts to make money off it)
