Can you put your sim card in your blackberry and transfer your numbers to the sim? Most phones do have this option.

The numbers etc dont seem to be stored on the sim card as they are not there when its in the iphone.

Transfer numbers from old phone onto sim card then put sim into iphone.

Copy the phone numbers in the phone directory to the sim directory then all contacts will be stored on the sim card, insert the sim card into the i phone and you may have to copy the sim contacts back to the phone contact...
Play about with it that's what you bought it for innit...?lol

On another note; how do you copy contacts from iphone onto the sim card? I need to transfer all contacts from old iphone to new iphone but can't find the option to copy phone contacts to the sim card. Please don't suggest syncing!! Had so much trouble with that already!

If you go to settings-mail,contacts,calendars-import sim contacts you can do it from there.

I went on that already, doesn't it mean it will copy contacts from the sim onto the phone, rather than the other way around?

There is no phone directory/ sim directory option on the iphone (or if there is I can't find it).

Try using Mobyko at http://www.mobyko.com.

It will sync your contacts 'over the air' and allows you to transfer them from one phone to another without faffing about copying back and forth between SIMs!

If you're with O2, you can use Bluebook which I think is similar

not sure if this will help, but this is what i'm using with my blackberry...

1. backup your blackberry with your usb cable

2. download the editor here: http://www.processtext.com/abcblackberryipdeditor.html

3. once started, you can open the ipd file that is stored as part of your backup with this program, and edit phone contacts (once this is done, you can restore from the backup file and the changes have been made to your contacts in your blackberry, saving you from doing it all manually on the phone itself)

i'm assuming that the iPhone will have some similar way of backing up to pc, the sticking point is finding a way of getting the database copied and pasted from one piece of software to the other....before restoring onto the iphone...

I was going to get an iphone but after seeing the problems my husband has had with his I think I might not bother. He saved his phone book to his sim, put his sim in his iphone and the phone numbers werent copied over. He is going to do them manually unless he finds another FREE way to do them, there are several services which charge if you do a google for it. He has been @rsing about all day with his itunes, too.

Is it really worth getting an iphone?
