I bought the screen off eBay but everyone is telling me how big a job this is and if I hand it in to a repair shop it will take at least a week and cost a fortune.

Is there any repair shop in Barnsley that could replace it while I wait? Any advice on replacing it myself?

when i swapped my faulty Dell screen over was only a case of removing 8 (4 for lid and 4 retained the screen with a metal frame on LCD that removed ) screws and a ribbon .

Eric_Collins I was in work and it was a group of guys just looking at it sighing. I really am fed up of people who talk about doing work as opposed to just doing it!

I am glad to hear DELLs are easy as I also have a DELL to do!

Providing you've got small enough screwdrivers it's half an hour's work.. It'll be something similar to this..
