OK a story. Tom the landlord used to do holiday reliefs as well. He was up at a pub in Dore once, and had forgot to leave the money out for a pint of milk. He saw the milkman through the upstairs window and shouted for him to leave him a pint. The milkman beckoned him to come downstairs. He apologised but said that this was the ONLY area in Sheffield that didn't give credit for milk. Dore ? Yes. Apparently people were so mortgaged up to the hilt that they had no money for non-essentials like bread and milk, so they always tried to get it on tick, but never paid, so the credit facility had been withdrawn. They say you learn something new everyday.
