Service 199 provides direct links between Southey Green, Ecclesfield, Chapletown, Burncross, High Green and Hoyland Common to the employment sites in the Dearne Valley at Corton Wood and Manvers.

It will operates 6 days a week, Monday to Saturday, between 0700 and 1900 and has been co-ordinated with new and existing bus services in the area.

It's a lovely run out through the country side and theres a lot of shops such as Next, Matalan, Boots, B&Q, Halfords, Morrisons, ASDA, Mcdonalds, sports shops etc.

My mum went for the run yesterday and she really had a nice time - made a change of scenery instead of doing the same old bus journey into town and back!

I'm trying to make people aware of it even though I don't work for the company because I would hate for another bus to be taken off our route just because people aren't using it!

You forgot Argos - and the ASDA is not a food asda but an ASDA At Home which has a large George upstairs and all home stuff downstairs.

Yep, that's right, sorry I did forget the Argos (I haven't been though, my mum did a dummy run to see what it was like etc).

She said that the journey was about half an hour from Burncross to Brampton and that the bus ride was a nice change of scenery and got her away from the hectic city centre for a change!

I have to say that when I am well enough to go out again (got mumps at the mo) I will be going for a ride myself :)

I hope that people use this service because it's apparently a charity funded company who are running the service, if nobody uses it then they'll just take it off :(

Try it out :D :D :D
