Hellloooo mateys,

Was just going through my clothes and remembered loads of lovely dresses that I have never even worn! Such a shame.

Where can I go (In Sheffield) on a night out where I can be glamorous in a dress without feeling like an overdressed idiot? I neeeeeeeeed some glamour in my life....

Thank you

x

Judging by the distinct lack on interest in this thread I daresay not. Beginning to feel like Cinderella now. I'm just not going to make it to the ball. ;)

Whooo Hoooo! A Forum Ball!!! Posh frock do!!!

Hmmm, all the clothing I haven't worn is probably a bit 'goth' for that though :(

Or I could wear my leather corset and matching boots :)

If not, I shall start wearing these things to the local Co-op in the afternoon just so they get worn.

I have a similar issue sugarnspice.. I bought a fabulously gorgoeus dress (well OK 2 dresses) for the races and a wedding, but the races got canx! I now have 2 fabulous new dresses (ok ok and hat, shoes, handbags, jewellery - I went a tad mad!!) and only one occasion!

Maybe we should all get together and just go out in town looking fabulous!

sugarnspice
12-08-2005, 11:22
Oooooh now you're talking! Finally!

Yeah maybe we could do that & if we look far more fabulous than anyone else then that's just their problem for refusing to wear anything but jeans.

I love my jeans tbh but I've got some bloody fantastic dresses (bags, accessories and obviously shoes) that really need to get out of that wardrobe and on to my bod for some drinkies and some dancing.

BruciesBabe
12-08-2005, 11:26
U see my issue is that I had chosen which of my fabulous dresses to wear to the wedding now I'm all stuck again!

I think we'd get laughed out of the city centre and if i'm honest, I wouldn't dare wear either of these dresses in town as i'd be afraid of beer / wine related injuries to them!

sugarnspice
12-08-2005, 11:28
Yeah I know what you mean. Though my dresses aren't "posh frocks" or anything. They're just a bit sexy but I don't see that many dresses on ladies anymore.

BruciesBabe
12-08-2005, 11:31
U see mine are posh frocks - sexy too though!

And no, u don't see many people wearing dresses anymore.

sugarnspice
12-08-2005, 11:35
Hmmmm..... back to square one somewhat.

I could at least help you decide which dress to wear to the wedding if you like? :)

Give me descriptions!

BruciesBabe
12-08-2005, 11:43
OK here goes... both 100% pure silk

OK I tried 3 times to describe the dresses and failed!

Colours? Styles? Accessories?

BruciesBabe
12-08-2005, 13:31
Both very floaty and delicate, one is white with roses on and one is multi coloured but predominately green.

Both are low cut at the front and relatively figure hugging!

Phew sugarnspice! Saved at the last minute from carrying out your threat to wear your frocks to Northern Avenue Co-op. So, now, where are you and CherryNicole going out in your frocks? The Vulcan or the Arbourthorne Hotel?

Just so long as you're not expecting me to whisk u away in a helicopter Aston Martin or owt!! Sure, I'm up for a laugh! Lemme know if anyone makes any plans, in the meantime I shall endeavour to scour the streets and listings of this fine steel city, searching for the appropriately glamourous venues!

We could find a private venue - posh frocks and suits only :D

Now which DJ shall we have? :suspect:

Hoow

I would realy like to join you, as I am also missing to wear my posh dresses.

Can I join you ladies?

I would also come with you walking through town or co-op just for fun.

And yes we need more gentlemens.

Greetings Cristal

PS please let me know if you need help in planning/ finding locations

Hmmmm ..... not sure I actually have "posh frocks" for a ball kind of night though. I just wanted to wear one of the sexy little numbers stuck in my wardrobe. Babydoll dresses mostly.

When I said glamour ... I didn't necessarily mean full-on ball gowny stuff.

Oh dear oh dear it looks as though I am fully justified in buying a new dress. ;)

Brilliant night out, lots of people and atmosphere, and you can get away with wearing what you like.

Hi All

I work for a charity and am organisng a black tie dinner (not till March unfortunately) and details are sketchy at the moment (only just started work on it). It would be a great opportunity to dig out those evening/cocktail/prom dresses for the ladies!! If anyone wants more details pm your email/address and I'll send out details just as soon as I have things a bit more organised!

Yey Brighton Beach!! Is the next one October?? Dunno whether I'd want to wear my posh frock there though, I like to go alternative ;)

I would not want to try and organise a SF ball....sounds too much like hard work, but if someone really wants to I can assist

Hang on, I seem to remember you having blonde hair, but you have dark hair don't you?

Incidentally, what the hell am I doing on the internet on a Saturday evening. I'm sooooooo bored. Want to be out and about. :(

Well.... I could pass for a baddie from a Bond film, if that counts? An English Nik Nak?!

Um. Well.

Classy venues for dress wearing - can't believe no one has suggested these !!!!!

Gatecrasher on most nights is suitable for dress wearers... Mondays are good cos non too pricey and people seem to make the effort.

Also... the Friday SoulPhisticated night at Tequila on West Street - really funky soul sound, very smooth and classy - certainly very "Bond".

If I can find someone to sit the corgi's for the night - count me in.

You what?? Have u NO idea what glamorous is?? Monday is meat-market night, the only kind of glamour you'd see in Crasher on a monday night is page-3 type glamour!

See you in there 2moro!

Besides, can you really see anyone wearing a suit there beside the bouncers?

Ok ... I'm starting this thread all over again....

I have 2 young children so I usually spend all week covered in yoghurt, milk & banana etc with hair scraped back,no make-up and whatever clothes I pick out of the drawer first.

I help with jigsaws, painting, watch cbeebies with a child on each knee, change nappies, read stories and deal with public tantrums in the supermarket.

I rarely go out & when I do it's not a little babydoll dress kind of evening - it's a jeans night.

Soooooo I JUST WANT TO WEAR A DRESS & FEEL REMOTELY GLAMOROUS FOR A BIT please.

Thank you x
