The faces are straining in pain and agony .
Sweat is pouring off their bodies as they undergo , "the treatment ".
Thousands of onlookers gawp and gape at them , taking pleasure in their horrible contortions.
Meanwhile , in the background those who have instigated these vile scenes , sit back and rake in the money.Many people have grown so hardened to these practices that they never even flinch and some are even bored by the familiarity of it all .
Yes , another televised athletics event . How long will this continue ?
Have these people no human rights whatsoever ?

i cant tell if your joking or not, but the athletes are only gaining in physical fitness which is good. they decide to do it. but i do think the athletics is boring monotanous crap. except for the javelin:)

I guess you 're right------running round a track till you 're in pain and knackered IS mild compared to watching Big Brother.
I suppose a really sadistic torturer would find a way of combining the two !
I haven't had the , "pleasure " of watching X Factor . What's that about ? Does it infringe Human Rights ? I think we should be told .
