I've got a program that I downloaded free called Chaos Manager which is great for keeping client info etc. however, I'm really in need of something to organise the orders I get as I never seem to be able to get it quite right! (Trial and error and all that!)
I just wondered if anyone knew of any reasonably priced (well preferably free but I doubt it!) software that would allow me to record orders and alert me to outstanding invoices and orders that haven't yet been dispatched etc.
Many thanks!
Just put them in a spreadsheet in excel, or database in access...?
I know I can do that. That's currently what I'm doing. I just wondered if there was anything that could send me alerts - to show who hasn't yet paid or what orders may not yet have been delivered/dispatched.
You see, organisation is not my strongest point which I know is not ideal for a business owner!
I've trialled this...

And thought it was quite good - there was another similar one I can't remember the name of a couple of my clients have used, I'll have to dig around my old e-mails
99% of these things come with a trial period so just google away and try some out and go with what you like.
Alternatively do as Ghozer says and make something yourself tailored to your needs (or have someone make it for you). It may not be the cheapest option to have a solution made for you but it will do exactly what you need it to.
Thanks Flloyd :) I'll have a look at the link. I got to work at it yesterday and set up a system of excel files and chaos manager and it should work ;) we'll see. I may still see some trials to see if I can find something that will make it easier for me!

Thanks guys,
I tried the one you posted Flloyd, however - it's not ideal due to it being American and working in dollars so I searched for a UK one.
Have actually found one that looks pretty decent. It's aimed more at a stock control basis but that's what I struggle with most as Excel just isn't ideal - too many different varieties of each product for example.
However, it also holds client info, order tracking and invoicing so looks like it could be pretty good. It's also free on the lite version - which is fully operational, just not suitable for larger companies.
I've only just downloaded it so will be trying it out over the next couple of days.
Thanks again for your help everyone!

There is an option to select British currency!
Tools->Options->General Tab
Currency dropdown list has an option for British Pounds.
