View Full Version : Lost on CH4 Series One
Has anyone watched the first episode tonight?
I've got the first ep on my sky box but I've not had chance to watch it yet.. and the 2nd ep is recording as we speak..
Is it any good?
Thankyou.
It's really rather good ! Plot is getting good and makes you think a bit, and characters good and varied, with some fit women in bikinis !
Cant watch E4 where i am [dont have it in hotel] so I'm gonna have to wait until next wednesday for the next episode to find out about a couple of things that happen near end of second episode that I wont mention as you havent seen it yet :P
weenireeni 10-08-2005, 21:53 its blurry brillliant! dont thnk i'll be able to sleep tonight, watched the two pilots on c4, now watching 1st episode on e4, very intriguing! makes reaffirm my fear of flying thats for sure! you should watch it asap, its unmissable :-)
SpiderPete 10-08-2005, 21:55 Its brilliant ... I can see many plot twists and secrets..
Didnt work out she has the one handcuffed ..... I dont have E4 so will have to watch it next wednesday.
seems ok
hope they remember that too many twists just makes a program look silly...not clever.
but so far so good
weenireeni 10-08-2005, 21:57 i didnt get the handcuffs either, love the way it gives you little clues which then are revealed later on! wonder what the deal is with that guy playing chequers!
KookyKoo 10-08-2005, 22:02 I thought it was brilliant, not disappointed at all with what JJ Abram's done there (big fan of his). I thought the 2nd episode was better than the 1st one... am resisting temptation of E4 episode now because I'll only have to switch it over to the Apprentice on BBC2 at twenty past 11... but look forward to it next week!!!
I've heard something about an animal in the jungle???
Is it come into the first episode yet??
Will have to stay up and watch both episodes tonight!!
SpiderPete 10-08-2005, 22:03 Yes there is somert about the guy with the chequers. I thought he was the one with the handcuffs.
There is somert odd about the chinese couple as well.
Acutally they are all a bit odd.
weenireeni 10-08-2005, 22:04 well guys yous are all missing out big time, the e4 episode is even more electric i'd say! ive downloaded the whole series so thats my weekend sorted!
I think I will put the episodes onto DVD tonight so I can watch them at my leisure later on.
It does sound really really good from what you guys are saying though!
KookyKoo 10-08-2005, 22:07 yes there's something about an animal in the jungle, Mr Kooky and I have some theories about where it's going but I don't know, it's definitely going to be full of surprises!
weenireeni 10-08-2005, 22:14 well theres been the polar bears but there must be more to it than that, else why would they reveal it this early, plus theres that signal on loop for 16 years, creeparama! what did that girl do that was soooo bad?! curious
You can read episode guides etc on the ABC site here and view photo galleries if you wanna spoil things for yourself :

I watch this and loved it,Yes i been thinking this too what has she done that was so bad.The only bit i sussed out was the bloke looking for his drugs in the toilet even befor it was shown. All the people i thought was ok turn out to be more of a supect.Im too thinking something odd with the chinese couple but now never know.I think now the dr could be the main one that has done something as he the only one that not a suspect :suspect:.
Just looking now at the lost untold on the net. That more stranger then the program it self.
noseyrosie 11-08-2005, 00:06 i watched them all including E4 one. Bloody good! I was meant to be cleaning the bathroom and got waylaid by about 4 hours!
So so intrigued by the polar bear! And the chinese couple! And how cheesy and obvious is the romance between Jack and Kate! Am I sad or what?!:hihi:
I thought it was very good only spoiled by the adverts
KookyKoo 11-08-2005, 00:14 yes the adverts were quite frequent, we thought so too
noseyrosie 11-08-2005, 00:19 So true....was good for me though, every time the ads came on I ran away to clean something :hihi:

Thankyou. It's good but I think they are dragging it out for too long.
It is into it's third series here and still no closer to revealing all! There are also a few too many flashbacks but it is a show worth watching.
Enjoy it:)
I really enjoyed it apart from the adverts - how annoying!!!!!

I heard something that there is apparently going to be 28 showings in 1 series and already planning another... when i saw the first instalment last night i mentioned to my partner how the hell are they going to stretch it to a further 25 :?
This seems a really good drama i hope and pray they dont ruin it... as was mentioned above earlier...
Good viewing... has its creepy moments too... lovin it
Ok, the couple are Korean not chinese.
there are 26 eps, the pilot is 2 as is the finale.
not sure how you are on the third series when they havent filmed season 2 yet?

It's because it's a new seriese and they know people will be watching, the adverts will get less if the viewing figures drop.

I think you'll find tulip is overseas so it is possible that they are viewing it ahead of us...
If this is the case i do hope tulip keeps it to herself  and not ruin the plot for us others :)
ps heard on Hallam this morning that its going on through till January... * looks like Wednesday evenings are going to be booked for sometime * :hihi:
where are you tulip?
Angel05 i think you'll find i said they havent filmed season 2 yet.
The second season of "Lost" will begin Wednesday, Sept. 21, according to ABC.
was marvellous !!! watched it with my boyfriend and housemates who all thought it fantastic too !!
i judge it being good as we watched all three hours last night but felt that wasn't enough and wanted more !
about time there was a decent drama on TV!
wednesday nights are for staying in from now on :D
Just watched both of them this morning..
Pretty good.. I'm not hooked at the minute though.
And whats with the polar bear???
I didnt get that at all.
I'd love to know what the creature is in the woods.. its gotta be pretty big ... I hope its now summat stupid like a long lost dinosaur or something along those lines ???

From what I saw, the scenery looks as though it was filmed in the same place as Jurassic Park. Surely the thing lurking in the bushes is...
Richard Attenborough?
KookyKoo 11-08-2005, 12:10 yes, Mr Kooky and myself both commented that it had something of Jurassic Park about it!

How weird is that... i got that impression too... :? Roll on weds...
Well spotted ! It was filmed in Hawaii - there is a load of trivia on the following page
http://www.tv.com/pilot-1/episode/334467/trivia.html
including this :
Plane wreckage scenes were filmed at Mokuleia Beach.
Mokuleia Beach is near Oahu's northwest tip (Kaena Point). Kaaawa Valley is over 30 miles away on the island's eastern coast. Kaaawa Valley is one of the few valleys on Oahu which are entirely privately owned. Many productions were filmed there, including Jurassic Park's memorable hiding-behind-the-log chase scene.
There is also mention of the length of the series :
The first season will depict their first 40 days on the island, with each episode covering roughly 48 hours (except the 2-hour pilot which only covers their first 24 hours). The Biblical reference (40 days) is no accident.
Help, I'm getting awfully addicted to this trivia - think i may join the fan club :P
Internetowl 11-08-2005, 18:31 the bloke sucked through the turbine was well excellent - I nearly choaked at that point - whoosh :)
its no wonder the 'polar bear' was upset - must have been boiling...
Freebird 11-08-2005, 20:36 I Watched The First 3 Parts Last Night And It Looks Promising.
Hopefully,It Turns Out To Be Better Than That God-Awful "Peter Benchley's Amazon" Currently Airing On Channel 5.:gag:
candystick 11-08-2005, 20:45 I thought it was great watched the first 2 episodes on c4, couldn't go to bed till i had seen the episode on e4.
I will probably do the same next week. watch it on channel 4 ( just to refresh my memory ) then tune into e4.
But don't you think there is something weird about the bloke that played chequers. :suspect:
FYI, Season 1 Part 1 of Lost is out in the UK on 31st October
http://www.play.com/play247.asp?pa=srmr&page=title&r=R2&title=718898
Hmmm, do I buy it @ the £27.99 they want for it or wait till xmas and get it as a pressie ?! Or even wait for the full series to come out ? ...
Wish I had a multiregion DVD player so I could get the US version sooner :(
Most impressed with ep 1 but decided not to watch on E4 so I have something to do next Wednesday.
The backgammon playing guy... now that just semed a little too symbolic to me, surely there are many interpretations such as the colour issue (him and the black kid), morality, (good versus evil) and strategy (whatever the island is versus the people and all their idiosyncracies).
I reckon the backgammon game will be representational of some of the action.
The final sequence with the message on loop had me riveted!
I would imagine, though I don't read spoilers, that there will be more biblical connections and a huge amount of moral values/justices served on the people who survive, possibly beginning with the Korean couple with the fella getting his come uppance for the way he treats his wife or maybe she did wrong and actually he's the good guy???
Roll on Wednesday.
candystick 11-08-2005, 21:19 Can't you get your dvd player unlocked rtapper :!:

Do they still show 24 in England? That just runs and runs here, I'm bored of it now. (I live in Idaho)There is another good show over here called 44 Hundred, its about a bunch of people being abducted by aliens.:)
We have both 24 and the 44 hundred tulip although the 44 hundred has only aired one series so far (as far as i know)
24 has lost it for me in the last series. They seem to be going for more ridiculous plots just to keep people viewing. Why not let the acting keep us glued to the box like in The Sopranos?
The Sopranos is without doubt the best program on television. It's a pity James Gandolfini is calling it quits :(
I'm looking forward to seeing the new series of The 44 Hundred. There is a lot of scope for the 44 hundred to carry on for a long time.
Back on topic though:
Lost grabbed my attention after about 10 mins and held it for both episodes. I wish i had watched them instead of recording them. I would have known to turn straight over to E4 then. Ohh well, two episodes next week :)
I'm guessing that the frogs were playing with the genetics of Bears and one of them grew a tad too big, killed them all and is now eating it's way through the smaller polar bears?
Time will tell

The second season of "Lost" will begin Wednesday, Sept. 21, according to ABC. Yeah, they run a series for 13 weeks here (to see if it gets good ratings) & we've had two 13 week runs and as you say, it starts up again on 21 sept. I knew I wasn't losing it. They must have filmed it if it's back on in a few weeks time? if not they are cutting a bit fine!
44 Hundred is still going strong but they have did something very naughty, the first series was on main stream television but then they moved it to dish/satellite. I can't remember if this is the 2nd or third run.
E4 are showing all three episodes back to back with a behind the scenes programme starting at 8 p.m. on Sunday....nice to know that if I miss it on a Wednesday, I can catch up on Sunday....I think it's really good, although I think I may have worked out what that noise and the flattening of the bushes might have been, and even that is really weird, and I'm probably way off-track.

It sounds like England is ahead of us with '44 Hundred' but I can understand that. If they are going to sell the next series to another broadcasting channel then it's bound to delay things
:)
Kristian 12-08-2005, 17:32 I really enjoyed the episodes this week. The bit where (highlight to see text, but it might spoil it if you didn't see the E4 episode this week)...
the backgammon guy makes the dog whistle, finds the little boy's dog and then gives the credit to the boy's Dad
..I found really emotional.
Really looking forward to the rest of the series!
K x
its on tonight?
from 10.40 til 12.30 ? that seems longer than when i saw it? is this a repeat AND the next episode? or was i just not paying attention first time around and it really was almost 2 hrs???

each episode is filmed 3 weeks before it airs.
and MTheo the pilot is 2 42minute episodes so im guessing they will show both of them with adverts totalling 2hrs

I'm surprised they got the actors to commit to an indefinitely long show. I can see a few more George Clooney type actors been 'born' from this show! A lot of them will be asking to be killed off so they can 'follow other projects' and do what they 'really want to do' i.e theatre:heyhey:
youwhatref 14-08-2005, 08:54 Just watched both episodes last night as i didn't get the chance to watch on Wednesday and so far so good. Didn't see the 3rd episode so looking forward to the story unfolding in relation to the female lead.
Think the big guy wit the bushy hair is my favourite charachter after the two.
LesMcQueen 14-08-2005, 16:35 Season 1 was 25 episodes long, with an additional 1 hour catch up 'special'
I've seen the whole thing, and it's well worth sticking with.
I actually thought the first 3 episodes were ok, but it really gets going from episode 4 (the Locke episode) onwards.
Season 2 starts in the US on September 21st!
neeeeeeeeeek 14-08-2005, 16:52 Hope this has not been mentioned as I have not read the whole thread but I watched it last Wednesday and also Saturday nights repeat. The Wednesday showing was cut. Various bits were cut out, the pilot being pulled out of the plane for example and other bits. Does anyone know if C4 are cutting all of the Wednesday episodes? If they are I shall watch the repeats. They should mention it if they are cutting bits out. Gits.
didnt see it so cant comment, but i agree if they are cutting bits out i would wait until saturday night.
laura_beth 15-08-2005, 18:42 I'm surprised that no-one has mentioned how fit jack is! oh yes! He is v.v.nice! I shall def be watching this programme!
In case anybody thinks his face is familiar, Jack used to be charlie, the eldest brother out of "party of five"!
Lost is quality! Pity though Ive seen them all, downloaded them cos theyve all been shown in the us. Shall I ruin it for all of ya and tell you what happens?????? :P

It is my housemate that downloads them using bit torrent websites. I think their are quire a few but i will find out the address and pm it to you if you like. The speed of downloading depends on you internet connection, we have a mighty 8 meg connection (well it should be but bulldog are rubbish!) so he sets it downloading before he goes to work and its complete when he gets home.
EDIT. Sorry Ive just remembered, i dont think you can download them per episode, you download a 'torrent' and it has all the episodes and it can take a while as their are alot of episodes. I will find out though and let you know.

I noticed that by accident. I watched it on Wednesday, then happened to catch a late night re-run and the bit at the end of the first episode where they look up in the tree and say 'how does something like that happen' (something like that), is all you see on Wednesday. But on the late night rpt the camera went up and looked down on a ripped up bloody body of the pilot! I was quite surprised! I guess wednesday was too early to show gore.
absynthfairy 17-08-2005, 21:12 anybody else wishing they hadn't watched all 3 episodes now and therefore having to wait till 11pm for their next fix when there is nowt else on the telly to watch????
tonights bored me.... think ive had enough already. slow paced not enough action and a story that moves at a snail's pace.
:D
absynthfairy 18-08-2005, 09:13 I thought last night's was really good - but i won't say much (much as I want to) because i watched the first look on e4 and don't want to spoil it for others...
*contemplates starting a thread for such purposes*
craigmason 07-11-2005, 12:51 has anyone been watching lost . whats a polar bear doing in the jungle on a desert island
It was in the cargo bay of the plane...
wardy2005 07-11-2005, 12:57 i have been watching lost i think that it is vary good but i havent got a clue why there is a polor bear in the desert??????? great tv programme well done to all you people who watch it
DaBouncer 07-11-2005, 12:59 Having watched the entire first series and now enjoying series two I know whats down that hatch in the jungle ;)
the polar bear is all to do with the little boy walt. in lasts weeks episode it showed he had special powers, and he was reading his comic book when his dad shouted at him, the comic book showed a picture of a polar bear...... then one suddenly appears! also in the comic book was a picture of an island...hmm maybe im reading to much into a kids comic book?
Me too Dabouncer, isnt it scary!!
Which one are you up to??
Have you seen the Lost Rhapsody?? (http://www.albinoblacksheep.com/flash/lost)
:D
Glory_Box 09-11-2005, 16:54 I'm totally addicted to 'Lost'. What am I gonna do when the first series ends? However, I don't have E4 so people keep trying to tell me about the epeisodes after. Also, my dad has all of series one and the first five series two episodes and I like to watch it weekly and get the shock of 'Oh my God...CLAIRE'S BACK!' and the likes, but my dad keeps trying to tempt me into watching all of them or make 'hints' about the show. My main defense for this is to clap my hands to my ears and scream 'LALALALALA not listening!':D
hey, saw lost rhapsody it was uber amusing. Has anyone seen some of the dodgy fan art on hanging around, some of it has real fruity undertones.
New game (http://abc.go.com/primetime/lost/games/mission/index.html). More difficult than the previous one....make sure you take your medicine:gag:
FallenAngel6 20-01-2006, 07:48 I have to bring up Lost. This has got to be the best series on TV in the past 20 years. Anyone else agree.
Seriously you sit down watch it and you cant tear yourself away from the TV, its so action filled, and it could be so true and you have people doing real life things and not just bad bad bad all the time.
So for those who dont watch it, watch it and those who do:
Whos yer favourite charactor and what do you think the thing is on the island?
:D from Fallen
RegularJohn 20-01-2006, 08:25 Locke is by far the best!
As for whats on the island...sounds mechanical...not animal and from what i saw looks like a black cloud of dust....soooo nanobots maybe, who knows? I dont even think the writes have a clue whats going on!

Have to agree - Lost is good - but being halfway through season 2, its just starting to annoy me now!!
24 is the mutts nutts. Got the first 4 of season 5 to watch tonight!!
FallenAngel6 20-01-2006, 09:17 wot on earth was the twenty four about?
My fave is charlie
Hmmm charlie
lol anyone see the series finale i was furius with the baby snatcher and the others. Grrrrrrrrr
From Fallen
I think that was Lickables way of disagreeing with you, and suggesting that 24 was the best TV program.
I have to agree that 24 is the best - certainly me favourite. Jack Bauer rocks!
Lost - Hurley has to be the best character.
youwhatref 20-01-2006, 09:44 Locke & Hurley for me.
Read today that the intention is seven series of Lost. :wow:
How much can happen on one Island?
I've heard the scrips have been writen for six series already! :wow:

I have seen most of the second series, sent over from America by a 'friend'.
Kate blows up the family home with her wicked drunken step-dad in it. She has already taken out some insurance on him, gives her Mom the policy, clears off but gets caught at the airport after her Mom grasses her up!
Its excellent. Ive now watched first 10 episodes of season 2 and it just gets better and better
Can I ask a favour.....
Those of you who have seen some or all of Season 2 (by whatever means), would you please not post spoilers on this thread, as it ruins it for the rest of us who haven't seen it and have to wait until it's shown on the TV.
Thanks.

So you dont want to know about locke being eaten by the T-Rex in episode 3 of season 2 - or that Kate is actually a robot??
fred_notdead 24-01-2006, 21:44 Not to mention 'The Others' then?
However I did hear that the scripts have been drawn up for another 6 series. Wanna know who's in and who's out, what happens and who wakes up first???
As Series 2 is due to start in the next few weeks, I suppose it's time to resurrect this thread.
Can't wait for the new series ~ it has to be an improvement on Invasion, although I find that I have to watch that every week, just in case something might happen....it usually doesn't.
Anyway, Series 2 starts Tuesday, 2 May 2006 at 10 p.m., Channel 4....and I can't wait!:)
