I have made the descion to have my beautiful cat put to sleep saturday,as you know she has some growths in her stomach and is 15 years old,the steroids made her ok for a while but now she starting to have no quality of life and has started to distance herself from us,when i look into her eyes shes asking me to help her,my hearts broken but i know its something i have to do,we have decided to have her cremated on her own and brought back to us,she will go as she had in life with us with her loving her to the end peacefully and no more pain,god knows im going to be sad for a loooooong time but she gave me unconditional love,friendship,and support for her 15 years not to mention the laffs ,we had her from an hour old and hand reared her so she was special,but i have my jessica who will need loads of tlc as she too will be grieving thank you to everyone for the support and advice xxx i know saturday she will be at peace shes had more love than many humans lol and never known what scared,cold or fear was as she was a house cat for the last 5 years,and i add very spoiled so bye bandypoo RIP my darling cat xxx

I'm so sorry to hear that Bandit's health has deteriorated to the point where letting her go is necessary, but I'd also like to thank you on her behalf for taking the hard decision to let her go without having to suffer.

This last phase is always scary for owners, wondering whether they'll know when it's the 'right time' (even though it feels very much like it's the wrong time from the human point of view) but in my experience every loving owner has a link straight to their animal's heart and knows what they are feeling and just when it's time to let them go in peace.

I wish you the strength to go through this calmly and with dignity for both the animals and humans in your family.

thanks medusa and your so right,the head knows but the heart resists! its the last thing we can do for them and no matter how hard we KNOW its right,as before she will be with us both holding her and knowing shes always been loved and cared for. xxx

i wish you both lots of love because this is the most awful time for any owner making that heartwrenching decision, but you are doing the right thing i believe if you know your animals well enough they tell you what they want especially when it comes to this.
keep strong my friend and try and enjoy every last living precious moments of time you,ve got together. lots of luck :-( xx

thanks moo it helps that peeps on here know wot im goin throo,i have sobbed until i cant cry anymore............but i can!! and yes im making every moment count shes given me so much during her life and it takes another animal lover to appreciate that glad to know im not a crack pot,shes not just a cat she was my baby and i have kids so not a substitute!! im just glad that i had 15 years of love and understanding from her we still have jessica my black one whos loved just as much and guna need help over the next few weeks blessings to you xxxxxxxx
