I think you're just supposed to run it as a normal cycle but with citric acid intead of water, and no bottles or anything in the steriliser.

I'd be tempted to then do a normal water cycle with nothing in too.

Where did you get citric acid? I've never done ours, I just crack the limescale off the element every now and again.

give it a cycle with the citric acid, then a cycle or 2 without, dont put anything in ie ; bottles, dummies etc.

i tryed my hardest to get the citric acid for the sterilser ! but chemist told me they dont stock it as druggies use it with the drugs.

someone said to use normal kettle descaler and mines been fine. after using the kettle descaler i washed the sterilser out twice and also put it on two cycle x

holland and barratt stopped sellin it cause of druggies however mothercare do a liquid version which has instructions on it, i think it costs 2.00 for a couple of sachets
with the powder version put your normal amount of water, put on empty, leave the lid on for 30 mins then rinse out and do a normal cycle with just water.
good luck!!x

i just put some steriliser fluid in mine for 15 mins and then rinse it out, It's not what the instructions say but does the trick nicely

The instructions on our boots stuff say to run through the sterlise cycle for 5 minutes, then turn it off and put the liquid in (with care because it's boiling at this point) which you then leave for 30 mins.

Then clean and do a full normal cycle (empty).

But it didn't work that well.

i just put it on empty with a sprinkle of the powder in, then did a full cycle... then 3 clean ones just to be sure...

... the steriliser now looks brand new. i so impressed... even done the kettle!

gonna do dishwasher now..

thanks again all
