but does this mean he will go at the end of the season for nothing? is that good or bad business??i suppose if he settles back down & helps you get in the playoffs & promotion then it will be seen as good business, although he can leave for free at the end of the season, if you get promoted then who's to say he wont agree to stay?

Lets hope he gets his head straight now and helps get us in to the play-offs.

I would say it's still good business. If he helps us get to the play-off final, we may earn more from those games than we would get for him now anyway... even if we don't get promoted.

His contract will be up in the summer, so were giving him away for FREE then

That’s one way of looking at it but what if makes the difference between us making the play-offs and not making them.

I think (altho I may be wrong) when it was first announced on Radio Sheffield, it said he wouldnt be able to go on a free. Didnt explain why tho.

don't know how it works, but could he go at any time on a loan now buy later deal?

Playing him in the F.A cup for 45mins was interesting, him then being cup tied in England , leaving the door open for Celtic .

But its good news, helping to keep a settled central pair of Killa and Morgan.

Ane we have Marcel Seip as a back up too as Morgan is on about 7 bookings, though he needs another 3 for a suspension. Nice one Killa

It also means that we don't have give Leeds any sell on money

thats the biggest bonus of all, not giving papa smurf any of our money

After getting half the gate money from Old Trafford and another bumper payday guaranteed at White Hart Lane I dont think they are too bothered about 15% of what we would have got for Killa.
Glad hes staying though, once again the best centre backs in the division will hopefully lead us into the play-offs

Maybe Matt and his leech of an agent are being clever here? They can see which of the interested teams (Wolves, Wigan etc) will still be in the PL come the end of the season. It would increase the signing on fee if he isn't contracted to any club also.

Maybe I'm just being cynical but the change of tune is strange!

Does anyone else find it a little strange that theres no mention of this on Uniteds website?

Could backfire on him though - if he doesn't lift his standards again until the end of the season, then he could miss out on a PL move completely... or if he gets injured playing for us late in the season, could be stuck without a club or a contract in the summer.

EDIT: Brian the blade on RS at the moment and his other phone starts ringing, so he says "it might be Radio Hallam" :D

Also there are more reports in the rags that he's agreed terms with Newcastle after Utd accepted £2.5m for him.

Hopefully Morgs will break his leg in a training ground 'accident' towards the end of the season :hihi: (N.B. I am only kidding!)

Just read that back, doh! I don't wish Morgan to break his own leg, nor Killa's :)

He will get a new contract for next season probably not with us ,he will also get a signing on sweetener as well so he isn't going to be out of pocket by not going yet

yeah but overlooking the most important thing..........his agent will get a bumper pay packet, probably double or treble what he'd get if the player extends his contract

So Mc cabe has it to invest:) thats good to hear, a club with plans and cash;)

As for investing in the team ! well ! when was the last time S6 spent a substancial fee on a player , lol your having a laugh.

Chad Evans fee alone almost puts your first team squads value to shame. And that sir is why your second bottom and falling.;)

OK , accepted on the chin. But to suggest Mc Cabe has not invested in the team is ill researched too.

If fit we would have a squad to match most in the division. We are well positioned in the league yet the Blackwell and Mc Cabe knockers seem intent on slaging off people for the sake of it.

At the start of the season if told united would go in to the new year in 7th place, we would have took it with a smile. 7th and climbing , take the positives not the negatives, after all we are not second bottom and falling.

Things seem to be coming together at just the right time, lets hope a prolonged period of no football doesn’t change things
