My boyfriend has had a bad day at work and I stupidly offered to treat him to dinner tonight to cheer him up. Now I'm stuck as to where to go? We live Ecclesall/Sharrow Vale/Hunters Bar way but can travel a little way. Mustn't be too expensive though (my overdraft does have a limit!!) All food types considered!

I can't really cook for him as I do that most nights anyway so it wouldn't be much of a treat!!

You help and advice is much appreciated :)

Fat Cat in Neepsend is cheap and nourishing. It's a pub. Great beer too. Has a garden. Not a huge menu and half of its veggie. But I rate it. Unpretentious it is. Sept it stops serving food at seven.

casa nova in crookes and BBs on division street are both BYOB - keeps the price down!
Italian food at both :)
