Think back to warnocks post match interview on saturday,
This is a great club, would have 30,000 crowds every week
Latest business plans indicate a need for 30,000 crowds to cover costs, have i put two and two together and got 5

It really would add spice to the Blackwell v Warnock contests! It's not like he'd be getting paid much at S6 anyway, certainly not enough to turn to the dark side. Although he could become a legend by taking the owls all the way to the Conference :)

I wouldn't want any ex Sheffield United manger even if it was Alex Ferguson.
Surely it would be the same if Atko was rumoured to be going to s2.
It's the same with the player's, theres thousands out there to choose from without having to bother with your rivals cast offs.

It's just mine and thousands of other Wednesdayites opinion im sure.
Any Wednesdayite who would want that bloke at Hillsborough need's there head testing.
Let's just put it like this, would you be happy if the likes of Francis, Jewell or Atkinson came to replace Blackwell, i doubt it very much.
If your calling Warnock a legend who took all that time to get you promoted then got you relegated the very next season, than you must be easilly pleased.

I have morales, why would anyone want someone who said they would take over so he could relegate us, it's not rocket science is it.
There's plenty of managers out there available without having to stoop to those sort of levels.

As opposed to arguably the most hated manager in England, Wednesday's own ginger legend Megson (and possibly the new saviour)? Or Fat Ron and his opinion of people different than him? Or the kerb crawling Mr Pleat? You've had a few to challenge NW there... :)

who tho, considering our situation, all want money or no experience of our situation, i think theres only 2 or 3 out there that could handle it. Also one of the best all time wednesday teams was made with the help of john Harris, a blade.

I think they should leave Macauley in charge till after January and see what the situation is.
Theres no point in appointing any1 at the moment it's the players who arnt doing it not the managing team.
Law's, Macauley,
ITS THE PLAYERS WHO ARE SIMPLY NOT GOOD ENOUGH!!!!

05-01-2010, 20:15
John Sheridan - is he in the running? Or Waddle - he had some limited managerial experience at Burnley I think?

Depends what you want as owls fans - survival at all costs, even if it means continuing as a long ball team (e.g. Wilko, Cotterill), or go for a manager that will get you playing attractive, watchable football again, but may take longer and may lead to relegation this season on the way (e.g. Fergie Jr, Keegan). Or...the cheap option (the youth bloke).

dogsneck
05-01-2010, 20:15
megson would be a good choice if we were further up the table and not in as much debt, but he has had a rouugh time lately, whereas warnock has done well at palace and i think the players would respect that

And theres plenty of that at Hillsborough at the moment.

Why oh why is Megson the most hated manager in England, come on m8.

Go ask anyone at Bolton! He wasn't liked much at West Brom either by all accounts... Megson is heavily damaged goods now, a class A moaner and not great for harmony in the dressing room (not my opinion, but from fans of his former clubs on various radio stations in recent months).

Warnock, for all his lack of seeing anything wrong in his own team, and blaming refs, is far more liked in the media and generally among fans than Megson, who just does not come across well at all.

Warnock is nowadays more of a panto villain, where Megson is just Megson...

Lets be fair though Warnock just would'nt ever go to Wednesday, in all honesty you probably could'nt afford his salary as well cos he will be on a better salary than he was at The Lane based on his achievements to date.

If anyone saw the cup highlights show the other night you will have seen Mr Warnock really happy, gloating about how nice it felt to beat wednesday and knock them out of the cup, speaks for itself....

Id say get rid of Tommy if we stayed up, but i reckon he'd cut it at league 1 level and would probably learn a lot and thrive, to be fair to the lad he got thrown in at the deepend because of the situation weve been constantly in, it's the same with Beevers and Maccy.

Grayson because he's simply the Leed's manager and isnt everyone supposed to hate them, and Dave Jones because in general even if your guilty or not if your high profile like that your very lucky to keep your job or have much respect.

I don't think (outside of Sheffield and Manchester) that many people care about Leeds like they used to, and Grayson comes across well. certainly wouldn't have him that high up!

As for Jones, surely then Fat Ron should be up alongside him in your list?

To be quite honest i think whoever quoted Atkinson for the job are not exactley the brightest buttons, he's bloody 70 year old.
He will never manage a football club again not just because of his age but also after what he said, his named is tarnished.
And not only that where talking about current managers are we not and he hasn't managed a football club since doing that daft tv programme for Peterborough in 2006 which im sure many of you can remember.
