View Full Version : Waiting list for Standard Long Dachs puppies
*Peaches* 05-01-2010, 11:26 Roughly a years time I should be looking to have my first litter of Dachs, so I am opening the waiting list now.
My bitch is out of 2 fantastic dogs, done very well in the show ring.
The stud has not been decided yet but I am in the process of looking.
Whilst I could not guarantee show winning puppies, this litter will be to produce potential show dogs. If anyone has any questions or would like further information please feel free to contact me.
SpeedDemon 05-01-2010, 11:39 Woo Hoo Good luck Peaches :)
*Peaches* 05-01-2010, 11:41 I'm so nervous! My friend and fellow dog breeder is going to come and stay when she's due to whelp just incase I need him :)
SpeedDemon 05-01-2010, 11:44 ah i'm sure you'll be fine. Is it Elsie you're breeding? My kittens are due this weekend, can't wait!
Good luck, hope it all go's well. Try not to keep too many pup's your self, that's the hard part.
*Peaches* 05-01-2010, 12:21 This is for Ella, I'm not sure about Elsie yet
I thought Elsie was a rescue baby?
Good luck with Ella :)
*Peaches* 05-01-2010, 14:14 Personal rescue mission, not an actual rescue.
Its too soon to judge if she'd be a good enough mum, her proper personality hasn't developed enough yet
*Peaches* 03-04-2010, 15:47 Pregnancy has been confrimed and has revealed higher numbers than I initially expected, so I may have space on my waiting list for a few more if anyone was interested.
Wow! That was a short year!
virgoen18 09-04-2010, 14:55 How lovely, wish I could have one. I've been brought up with miniature dachshunds and absolutely love them. They are the only breed of dog I would have as they are such characters. Unfortunately I can't have one with working full time. Although I've 2 little cats to contend with. Good luck with the breeding. : )
SpeedDemon 09-04-2010, 20:10 ah wow, well done Peaches! Do you know how many she's carrying? Can't wait to show Mr SpeedDemon the photos when they arrive, he's terrified of sausage dogs :hihi:
*Peaches* 11-04-2010, 15:49 Yes there are 8
An offer presented its self that I would have been a fool to turn down, hence it being sooner than expected!
I've just put the puppy pen together so she can start to get used to it, she's due from 28th!

lol, if you were brought up with them, you got off lightly. I was raised to serve mini long hairs.
I haven't had one for 5 years, but still push the choicest bits of meat to the side of my plate for treats.
They trained me well, an I hope that soon, I will find a new one to be ruled by.
Good luck Peaches, I hope all goes well.
Please post photos.
PrincessKate 11-04-2010, 16:15 Awww tbh i didnt know what they looked like so a quick google and OMG they are beautiful :)
*Peaches* 11-04-2010, 17:42 DLWOX personally I think they are the most beautiful looing of all the Dachshunds, especially when they move, that silky coat just makes me melt!
Scozzie I will of course post pictures, though they may not be very good ones, my DSLR has died on me :'(
Well done ella 8!

virgoen18 14-04-2010, 11:34 Those pictures bring back memories of my miniature dachshund Heidi, that was her favourite pose along with the very loud snoring!
*Peaches* 14-04-2010, 11:39 Snoring comes as standard with Dachs! As does stealing your seat if you dare to move
Well done ella 8!

are you sure my daft dobermutt Ailsa didn't write this?
Hope all goes well Peaches. Love dachsies (and English Toy Terriers) - when we first got Ailsa, I was surprised how many dobe owners seemed to own dachs as well, (I think its the black and tan affiliation). Big gallumpfing thing that our Ailsa is, I would be whittled to death about her trampling on one, but they are cute.
*Peaches* 14-04-2010, 11:55 I have noticed a few dobe owners have Dachs too, and they actually live really well together! So do Dachs and Dallies actually!
crazy_chick 15-04-2010, 18:54 How long as she got left before she whelps
crazy_chick 15-04-2010, 18:56 ...............................
*Peaches* 15-04-2010, 19:23 I am not shaving my bitch thanks! I have taken advice from breeders, they have told me to cut her around the nipples, no need to shave
*Peaches* 15-04-2010, 19:34 Do you breed Dachs? Do you have over 40 years experience? Do you think you know better than the lady I am taking advice from?
*Peaches* 15-04-2010, 19:46 I'm sorry but I would take her advice over yours, she's been breeding them 40 years and is obviously doing something right
crazy_chick 15-04-2010, 19:48 removed as dosnt make sence, cos u have removed my other posts
*Peaches* 15-04-2010, 19:49 She's not all that heavily coated underneath, not compared to my dog, if she had a coat like his I would be tempted to take some out!
SpeedDemon 15-04-2010, 20:03 hehehe someone told me to shave my cat when she was due. I was gonna trim round her nipples if necessary but the kittens managed just fine without me doing anything :D
kate1984 16-04-2010, 17:04 Have you found homes for all the pups then?
*Peaches* 16-04-2010, 19:53 I won't know until they are born how many there are for sure.... Everyone is looking for different things
*Peaches* 20-04-2010, 07:53 8 days left
http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e363/mypiggypics/DSC00399.jpg
Oh my oh my ... excited !
My friends thing I am very odd as I get far more excited to hear about animal pregnancies than human ones ...
*Peaches* 20-04-2010, 14:29 Nope not odd at all, I'm the same!
*Peaches* 23-04-2010, 13:27 Puppies looking iminent in the next 24/48 hours
Ahh labour is soo disgusting!
When my Bichon was close to giving birth she used to run around the house going mad trying to tear the carpets up trying to find somewhere to have them! She did it for about about a week and then her waters broke...... Very scary!
4 long hours and 5 gorgeous babies :)
They are now 3 weeks old, just starting to walk around and eat ready brek - very messy!
The hardest thing is letting them go! :(
*Peaches* 23-04-2010, 14:22 Awww! She's started digging and pacing looking really uncomfy....
awwww, I hope it is an easy delivery for her.
I want one! I want one so badly, but my horrible O/H wont let me.
*Peaches* 23-04-2010, 14:25 Aww what a meanie!!
She's ready anytime then! I had a sleepless week worried about her and she decided to give birth at 10.30am.
Just make sure all her delivery stuff is in one room and you can move her quickly.
Might be best to put her bed in your room and let her sleep there if she's not already because sometimes they try and get on with it themselfs.
It was my Bichons first time and she was amazing with them. We had to help cutting a couple of the cords but other than that she did it herself. We just used the ear syringe to get the mucas out of their mouth as this killed one of my uncles pups a day later :(
They are right little monsters now, more fun to come when they are running around!
Daisy let us hold the puppies from day one and didn't mind us having the odd cuddle with them. People say not to touch them but if she seems fine with letting you have the odd stoke then it's best as she won't turn nasty with people being around them as she is protecting them. My uncles Shihzu was really nasty with people being around them but each dog to their own.
:) Good luck with the birth! Hope she has a good birth. Just give her lots of cuddles :)
*Peaches* 23-04-2010, 14:45 She can't go up and down stairs, she's too big, and too heavy for me to carry. She's got her own space sorted, she'll be fine I'm sure... not sure about my nerves!
Awww. My Daisy was huge! She weighed 5lbs before she got pregnant and the day before she gave birth she was 10lbs.
Just keep an eye on her :) it could be anytime and you don't want her doing it on her own.
Ahh I was soo nervous :( it's so worrying.
I took her to the vet the day after because I was so worried about her and wanted her to have the injection to stop infections.
helenasq 23-04-2010, 15:40 Good luck Peaches, hope everything goes well for her.
JarvisCocker 23-04-2010, 15:47 Good luck Peaches, will be checking over the weekend for an update!
*Peaches* 23-04-2010, 16:20 She's currently snoring.... longest she's been asleep all day
JarvisCocker 23-04-2010, 16:21 Bless her, she'll need all the sleep she can get with what she's got in store.
SpeedDemon 23-04-2010, 20:22 woo hoo hope it's a nice simple birth for her (and for you lol)
mummysaz21 24-04-2010, 19:35 has she had them yet
*Peaches* 24-04-2010, 19:40 Nope, but she's getting there I think, she's started digging all over today, and being generally unsettled for short periods then goes back to sleep!
Long night for me tonight I think

mummysaz21 15-05-2010, 13:30 Wonder why this thread never got closed but other waiting list threads are closed asap, just me being nosey but would like to know the reason.
i wa wonderin that to
Moonbird 15-05-2010, 13:39 Wonder why this thread never got closed but other waiting list threads are closed asap, just me being nosey but would like to know the reason.
Because once the threads move down it's hard to notice every single one.
Peaches if you want to post a thread about the progress of your puppies that is ok but as this one is for people to join a waiting list then we really should treat it as a re homing thread and close it.
