its ok. goes with the trend of the day a-la kaiser chiefs, the killers & franz ferdinand.
could easy see them go top ten...and just as easy be playing my local pub.
Its out on 22 August ... but you can pre-order it from:
http://www.theespc.com/
... click the Releases link.
Probably wise to grab one or two before they go.
Other but related news: Thee SPC were featured in today's NME ... wonder if it'll make any difference to anything ....
Strange that their number one fan doesn't know they're called 'Harrisons', not 'The Harrisons'.

Shut it, I know there not called The Harrisons because if I had thought that then I would of typed "The Harrisons", I only wrote it like that because i did not know how else to phrase it and seemed dramatically correct. I tried to show that they were not called The Harrisons by putting the band name with out the "the" part in it, i thought that by putting the " things around it, it would have clearly identified that I was not like that. There's no need to be smart.
Well the band's known nationally but it could be awhile before we saw them in the top ten if they get there, lol!
I've had their new single a few weeks now, and I must say I was quite impressed with it.
It worries me that they've been signed to a not-famous label though.

I feel sorely tempted to pull this post to bits but I don't think it would be a wise thing to do. CALM DOWN LOVE!!!!!
carcrash 10-08-2005, 17:14 There is a great thread on NME and thee spc on www.l2sb.co.uk
I dont like "indie" music, I find it all the same. Where does the name "indie" come from and what does it mean?
carcrash 10-08-2005, 23:24 It comes from the word independent. Most bands were signed to Independent record labels.
Doesnt it mean a band is signed to an Independent record label?
carcrash 11-08-2005, 03:44 It did used to mean that but over a period of time it has just developed into a form of music.
For a record label to be classed as an indie label it would have used companies like Rough Trade, Cargo or themselves to distribute their artists records. Some of the best known indie labels from this country are Creation, Factory, Rough Trade, Mute, Go, Jive.
A lot of the major labels have set up fake indie labels to cash in on the indie scene over the last 20 years which did used to upset people
... its been put back a week because the original 1500 have all been pre-ordered already ... they're doing an extra 1000 ... they'll be out on 29 August ... still wise to snap one up ...
SilentStatic 14-08-2005, 11:09 Yeah, they're better than most relatively recent Indie bands :)
claiireee 17-08-2005, 11:19 They're playing at The Boardwalk on 24th August, with Stoney who is amazing.
Yodameister 20-08-2005, 16:40 I've never heard Harrisons, but I'm going to the gig on 24th to see Stoney, who I have seen and are great.

they've not been signed to melodic merely licenced the recordings they own, they are still free agents.
Kerry_Lou 23-08-2005, 11:39 There has been quite afew articles in the paper, like last weeks Telegraph and they have been mentioned in the Star afew times now. Mark White (Drummer) is really really excited and is looking forward to not working in a shop. I just wish them good luck. If only I was 18 as tomorrow night they play at the Boardwalk and it is only four pound entry
claiireee 31-08-2005, 10:58 Did anyone go to the gig? What did you think? Stoney was my highlight to be honest, that guy is amazing. I didn't enjoy The Harrisons that much, more because I was concentrating on not getting crushed rather than the music! The band on before The Harrisons were pretty damn poor!
"I've got the key and I know where to go...."
can't get that song out of my head
:)

They are now.
For anyone following them, the critically acclaimed single 'Blue Note' came out on Monday, and its a corker.
The video is wonderful too.
Lozzylozenge 15-02-2006, 10:20 In my honest opinion, I think they are crap!!
Sorry to be so blunt but everyones allowed there own opinions! I disagree totally about the video too as it is just some morons they knew from school running around playing football......Wow!!
I can definately understand why people like some of their music, not disputing that, but they are horrible people who are stuck so far up their own arse it's ubelievable.
"don't get me wrong yea theres boys in bands, who like to scrap yea, with pool cues in their hands" (Harrisons)
Agent Gypo 15-02-2006, 10:56 I saw them in Bradford late last year. They were painfully average, though there was only about 15 people in the audience (including the support bands).

Looks like it went over your head then! It is homage to the excellent 1969 Hines/Loach film "Kes".

You don't say!
how observant of you!
nic_scarlet 21-03-2006, 09:19 hmmm I think that Arctics, Bromheads and (to a lesser extent) Milburn are the only bands from this current crop with anything fresh and interesting to offer
If anyone sees or meets them can you ask them for the street sign back, please? I've just been to Harrison Road to meet someone and had to drive to the far end to check the name of the road. It turns out they nicked the sign and take it on tour with them.

I wondered if they still had that sign. I saw it when they were at the Boardwalk last summer, but not when they were at the Leadmill in January.
yeah, it goes practically everywhere with them!

they are now signed and working on their album....should be brilliant!

erm...no! they are not up their own arse at all...if you knew them you would know that.
