Hi thanks for reading my cry for help. I need to replace my Dell Inspiron 6400 laptop screen (as we recently dropped the laptop). I've removed the bezel and I've popped the screen out to get the parts number. Here the confusion begins - the label on the reverse of the screen says it is a Samsung with the parts number LTN154X3 LO9. I'm assuming that a replacement Samsung screen will suffice (I'm hoping so, as they are about £20 cheaper than Dell branded screens).
I've searched the t'interweb for a replacement screen and there are quite a few with the LTN154X3 prefix but how important is the LO9 reference as there seems to be a large range starting LO1 through to LO9. Obviously I want to make sure that I get the screen with the correct fittings for the inverter etc. Will any LTN154X3 suffice or does it have to be a LTN154X3 LO9?
It's a WXGA 15.4 screen that needs to be replaced.
PS - has anyone any suggestions for websites / shops for reasonably priced replacement screens?
All advice gratefully received.
