View Full Version : Blades V QPR - Live Matchthread
matt1889 03-01-2010, 14:21 Hiya all, coming to you live from the game thanks to the modern technology that is 3G Phones.
All Blades would be pleased to know we have started off pretty much how we ended our last game, started pretty well and our passing the ball around decently, should be 1-0 up after missing a sitter but were passing around from left to right and doing a lot through midfield so all looks well.

sob sob thanks mho1:cry:. But im over it now and feel better now blades have scored :D
matt1889 03-01-2010, 14:52 Madness They went in front against run of play and then take control and then we get back in it in last 2 mins of first half and equal things. Think Creswell got injured when he scored though, hes limping now anyone know anything?

He was actually injured before he scored.
matt1889 03-01-2010, 15:03 Didnt look it he was still running around ok, but afterwards he went down on one knee and then limped off at half time. If we start how we just finished anyway im confident of us winning and going through. If not i'm gonna watch something on sky because this Nokia N97 is a class phone, I can watch sky sports live on it for £5 a month so i would recommend it to any football fans.
One bone to pick tho, cos I've messaged on here I had to Q for mi half time pint i'm usually good timed to be at front but oh well can hardly drink it anyway it's too cold, definately gloves and scarfs weather today.
matt1889 03-01-2010, 15:07 Is Killa injured?
nikki-red 03-01-2010, 15:09 Not said anything on radio, just said he seems 'disenchanted' and not his usual self. Speculating that its also so Siep gets a chance to play with new team mates before the next league game, as Killa will be gone by then.
sham.69er 03-01-2010, 15:10 keith edwards just said thats the last we'll see of killa in a blades shirt
killa's probably got transfer flu!!
nikki-red 03-01-2010, 15:22 Sounds like were playing well, gutted Im not there. Stupid flu!
sham.69er 03-01-2010, 15:23 no point keeping a player that wants to move..tbh i can't blame him and wish him all the best

Exactly. No matter how professional the player is, if they want out their heart will never be 100% in it. :(:(

oh right......yeah afraid the champions league has pushed the FA cup out of the limelight...damm shame
matt1889 03-01-2010, 15:40 Boring, Boring, Boring, Trying hard but cant beat QPR's 8 man defence......Quinn off he's trying to show off but keeps giving the ball away, Blackwell needs to think now cos I don't want a replay
sham.69er 03-01-2010, 15:43 Blackwell needs to think now cos I don't want a replay
ha ha ha don't be daft matt..blackwell think????
sham.69er 03-01-2010, 15:58 glad i stayed at home......sounds like we did ok but a 1-1 draw aint worth sitting in this weather to watch....i must be getting old :|
matt1889 03-01-2010, 16:05 The warmth of the boozer nowfirst t'bar for a change as well, Overall was'nt breath-taking and i'm glad it was'nt in the league because we can beat them by rights, we did enough to win I think however it's really hard to beat teams like that who slam every man behind the ball and defend for 80 mins. When we got the ball we went out wide but most balls put in the box were either the wrong ball on defended easily as they had the men on the box.
Few individual displays impressed me, Camara was busy today again and looks like hes fit enough now to do a job for us, I'm not sure if Creswell is the right man for him yet though as they seem to have different styles and minds and stuff, be interesting when Hendo comes back as to who gets dropped to be fair. Ched evans played ok, keep your eyes open for his pelter today, proper rocketted it against the woodwork, if it went in it would have been goal of the season. Wardy and monty's work rates can never be faulted however quinny alltho he did well a couple of times today just kept giving the ball away which gave us problems cos they are fast!
Anyway over and out lol, see you all when I get home!
Plain Talker 03-01-2010, 16:27 1-1. Not the win we hoped for, but not a loss, either.
We'll have to see what the replay at QPR brings us...

you should have closed a stand and saved some pennies ;)
Only looked around 8-9k in there, the kop in particular was sparse (though I guess people on there upgraded to decent seats with leg room in JSS or South Stand for the day).
Didn't seem to be as much of the usual negative attitude from some of the fans in the ground compared to usual, which was a pleasant change. Overall, we should've won but didn't make the most of some good positions (Quinn missed a sitter, but set up the goal for Cresswell).
Very impressed by Seip after replacing Killa at half-time, he fitted in without a problem, and the defence looked solid throughout the second half. An improved performance by Ched, some very nice touches and a thunderbolt free-kick that left the crossbar shaking.
The 'prize' of a trip to Bolton for the winner is hardly mouthwatering, though at least now Megson's been kicked out, they move past his thud and blunder tactics by the time of round 4. Nothing to be scared of though... i'd expect this to be right at the very bottom of the list of games for potential live tv coverage though - can't imagine anyone actually wanting to pay to watch Bolton v us!

The Bramall Lane End was empty, apart from the lower tier for away fans - though not sure if that was because we're supposed to allow them 25% of the seats still, or they just didn't think it was worthwhile opening it.
Certainly makes you question the logic of either Sheffield club expanding their attendances, when they can barely fill 35% of it as it is!
