Hiya!

I'm getting married in June 2010 and I'm in a right pickle about music during the ceremony. We've been told to pick 4 songs by the registrar.

One to walk in to, one to sign the register to, one to walk out to and some background music. I've chosen some songs that we like but everyone else seems to think they're unsuitable.

These are the songs we like.
Hopipolla by Sigur Ros, I'm yours by Jason Myraz(spelling?), One day like this by Elbow, Everlong by the foo fighters (the acoustic version) I don't know which song to have for which part and whether the songs are a really bad choice??
I don't fancy anything traditional but I do like rhapsody on a theme (Rachmaninov) but we had it at my nans funeral but I think it's beautiful.

I wanted quite a modern theme without being rediculous...

Any opinions/suggestions would be much appreciated (I think, lol!)

I think that what songs you use are completely up to you, and whether others think it's appropriate or not, its your big day and you should play whatever the hell you want lol. And I don't think there is anything wrong with those songs, I especially like Everlong :)

Thank you! It's so easy to just listen to the negative opinions. I still can't choose which one to walk down the aisle to. I think it might have to be Hopipolla, then I'm yours to sign the register and one day like this to walk out to. I'm having you do something to me by Paul weller as first dance so looks like everlong will be background music :(. Oh I also want to get iris by the Goo Goo Dolls in there somewhere, lol and my partner wants Jack Johnson ha!
