Hi, I was at virgin for last 4 months but when I turned 18 they upped the cost from 30 quid to adult price 40 qud. Don't wanna pay 40 quid and now i'm lookin for a new gym to join, preferably in or near S11 area. Thanks.

If you want £30 per month, then your best with something like Fitness Unlimited (its not near Sheff 11)

Try s11 health or whatever its called. Its part of the university but anyone can join. Its pretty decent and not too expensive as I recall.

Zest Centre at Upperthorpe is only £18 month for unlimited gym, swim and classes!

Yeah its S10 on northumberland rd in broomhill/crookes. I pay £37 a month for full membership any time which includes use of gym, swimming pool and sauna/steam rooms.

They do have special offers on at mo for 1st 3 months.

i have to agree £40 for that gym is a bit over the top! its about time they started dropping prices, because i'm sure it'd attract more memebers anyway!!

some of them don't want more members, because at peak times it gets so busy that everyone is annoyed that they can't get on machines. it's better for gyms to price discriminate and offer cheaper prices for off-peak memberships.

Try Sheffield Hallams Uni gyms - obv a large student population but open to all.

Fitness Unlimited is the best value you'll find in Sheffield. £25.00 per month on a 12 month contract, and that's for any center at anytime. Don Valley Stadium is the quietest, and easiest to park free of charge. They also run Hillsborough leisure & Concord Sports Center. They have a 3 month contract option for about £30 a month.
