Hello all,
First time ive posted here as i really need :help: ,

Our house has an uneasy feeling about it and we want to get the house blessed so that all is well again but as i dont attend any church or anything like that ive hit a stumbling block as to what to do.

Does anyone know of anyone/anywhere in sheffield that i can get in contact with to discuss this further as im fed up of feeling uneasying in the upstairs of our house !

Thanks in Advance xx

The pragmatist in me says throw open the windows, scrub, polish, redecorate, throw out stuff.

But I would think that if you contacted your local parish church, even if you're not a church goer, they might be able to help you.

Joe's right. There are things you can do yourself to cleanse the house. It might be worth popping down to Body Runes and asking Litha (or ask her on here :hihi: ) about smudging etc. Depends on how you feel about using pagan techniques though. :)

I can put you in touch with vicar's or people that would be able to help even though you are not a church goer, one thing though what area do you live is? if I can help then I'd rather put you in touch with someone that lives locally or near to where you are. PM if you want

Hiya
Joe is right , throw open the windows , scrub and get rid of old clutter. have a thorough spring clean and get rid of everything that is broke or that you havent used for months, even those ugly orniments that reletives got you for xmas that you think you have to keep ( you could have a car boot with your old things and make abit of money too)
wash the window sills door frames etc.. with some water with fresh lemon juice in ( dont forget the door steps )
and as Eleri said *smudge* if you have never heard of this it is basically wafting incense smoke about. its common to use a smudge stick (sage all bundled together) but i use a charcoal disk with an insence blend smouldering on top. ive got a thing for frankinsence so tend to use that alot in blends.
then i like to go round with my singing bowl, but you could use a tambourine, a drum or any noise making thing ( even just clapping)
sprinkle a little salt about to
hemetite in a nice protective crystal so you might want to keep a couple of peices of this around ( i have got little bags hanging in the corners of my shop with hemetite in)

this is just a very breif outline of some of the techniques if you would like more info help please dont hesitate to pop down and have a chat.

Brightest Blessings
Litha

Welcome to the forums Angie!!
And I hope your situation in the house will be sorted out for you.

Can I just ask please if you dont mind of course- what kind of feeling do you get upstairs in the house and where is the feelings located?

Also has anything unusual happened in the house while you have been there?

Thankyou.

I just feel that someone is watching us mainly on the top of the stairs i have to keep checking loft hatch is shut and im making my DF put two bolts on it today,

im used to having happy spirts around me but im just feeling uneasy about this !

Only thing thats happened here is that my rabbit was killed by a fox a few months ago and it made me not want to be in my sons room as its where i heard it happen etc

Last night we did when we went to bed actually ask it to leave ie: Please leave your not needed here DS is safe and so are we were looking after him ok you dont need to be here so please leave !

I thought it might be the stairs- we have the same thing at our house but it does not feel menacing at the moment, although I do feel as if I am being watched when we sit downstairs watching TV... and Im sure I can sense a blokeish presence around the house.

Sorry to hear about your rabbit as well, it does sound terribly awful for you.

Have a word with Ant or Jon on here also if you need help, they ran the Yorkshire Paranormal Society and I'm sure would love to hear about your experieces and may be able to help you further if need be.

Any priest worth the name should help you out whether you are a church goer or not! Though this depends on the approach you want to take - christian religions will typically take an exorcism approach where a pagan approach may well (at least in the first instance) take a please leave approach...

I'd go with Litha angie.. it sounds like the lady knows what to do to sort the problem for you.. go for it!!

Do you notice any weird smells or anything around the house for no reason, as we keep smelling cigar smoke around the house especially in the spare room where I am now, and I know for a fact the guy who used to live in this house before us, used to enjoy a good cigar or too sitting in his rocking chair, which funnily enough I've kept as its wonderfully comfortable and am sitting in it right now speaking to you.

And does the feeling ever go elsewhere in the house, downstairs or anything?

Only really landing also sometimes in my sons room, No smells nothings ever moved, Your brave to be sat in the chair as im not sure i could,

I dont mind my nan or Late father in law who i never met as i know they will do us no harm.,

Joe's post says it all - if the thread were closed after his post I'm 99.9% sure that's all the information you need. The first paragraph probably was the only answer you needed.

Uneasy feelings over a house are self-fueling. I'm sure it's nothing a spot of bright paint, cheery pictures and pot pourri wouldn't cure.

We once spent the night in a house where the occupant refused to re-enter unaccompanied. She was convinced that there was an evil presence that lurked on the stairs and tried to enter her bedroom at night. She'd even glued a wooden crucifix above a makeshift altar on her bedroom door. Needless to say, our group spent an uneventful (and actually rather entertaining) night in the house. New occupants have reported nothing out of the ordinary. It was as haunted as the pope is protestant.

You are afraid of something you can't see. But because you can't see it, it's potentially lurking, ready to claw at your throat every time you pass it. It develops into an unreasonably heightened fear of Ghoulies and Ghosties on your landing.

The problem is almost certainly in your head, and it's for you to eliminate. You shouldn't have to pay someone or buy something to eradicate "It" from your house. Personally I think the only benefit arising from incense wafting (from both witches and posh blokes in a frock or dogcollar) is due to the placebo effect.

Is it only you that notices this??

If it is you, quite often if you becoem more positive about this you may find the problem disappears (maybe do the clear out that other suggest)

I am aware of a Paranormal group who use this Forum and i'm sure someone can post a link for you, but if you do have a problem (and a big IF), advice i've read before states that you should not discuss this problem in the home and get your LOCAL priest to bless the home. There are other things that can help but do not use anything that you shouldn't i.e Oujia boards etc.

Agreed. But when you imply they are loonies ("cuckoo...cuckoo") it's showing a tad too much dispespect.

omg have you really taken a look at yourselves??

get a life, fancy complaining about someone typing in capitals.

angie is new on here, how is she supposed to feel (yes mtheo i know all to well about new people on here  )

no one is saying that poeple cant have different oppinions but to make someone feel daft for theirs is just not nice what so ever.

capitals is seen as shouting. simple as. im not picking at grammer or spelling. just stating who `raised' their tone.

Well done to everyone who was so negative to angie on here.. you have suceeded in driving away another potential forumer.

I hope you are very happy with yourselves.. ********s.

I really do think the mods should clamp down on this sort of behaviour as this sort of attitude is what is keeping guests from coming on and posting on here.
