I thought it was disgraceful the way Liverpool players harangued the ref Marriner (who incidently is a Villa fan so should not really be reffing a Wolves game) to ensure that Stephen Ward, not another player, got a second yellow card, thus being sent off; enabling an easier time for Liverpool.

The worst part of it was Reina running the full length of the pitch to put his oar in.
Now I maybe a bit biased against Liverpool being a Toffee but I do not like this sort of thing in sport and I would be very ashamed if Everton ever tried such tactics.

Its pathetic really.

Be ashamed. Everton have, frequently, tried such tactics. So has every other football club in England.

That is simply untrue.

There may well have been cheats and dirty players in an Everton kit, and in other teams, but this 'team tactic' is fairly new.

I have been watching football since 1962 I have seen many single players do daft or sneaky tricks, but this business of getting players sent off seems to be a deliberate tactic.
It was brought to my attention watching the antics of Steven Gerrard (against several teams ) but in particular against Sheffield United a few seasons ago. It is not true that all teams do this. Most teams are very sporting, it seems to be just a few. OK these few seem to believe that it is a 'fair tactic' as they are under pressure to succeed.
Chelsea
Man U
and Liverpool are the main contenders.
I have seen many players asking the ref not to book a player, but no players from these teams do.

I was arguing this point in Liverpool last night with a red, we agreed to disagree later on his son who was on Lpools books as a youngster 15 years ago started the same discussion. I just kept my mouth shut as he was disgusted with the behaviour of Liverpool. So it seems that even some Liverpool supporters thought that it was was very unsporting.

Nice to see/hear.
Even youngsters know whats right and wrong.

There seems to be no code of conduct in relation to players who try to have others sent off, the FA need to crack down, very unsportmen like.
