You lil monkey, I thought that somebody was about to clear this up for me
This is taken from the ING car leasing company.
Prior to any trip, ING Car Lease can advise its drivers on any legal requirements related to driving in Europe. In France, Spain and the Netherlands, for instance, all drivers must carry a warning triangle in case of accident or breakdown and headlamp converters are compulsory. A GB sticker is still required on the rear of any UK registered motor vehicle, caravan or trailer when driving in non-European Union countries. However, UK vehicles displaying Euro-plates (the circle of 12 stars above the national code) do not need to display a GB sticker within the EU.
I hope this clears it up for you Mo. ;)
Apart from that Don't go to France it's full of French people. :gag:
Sorry mo, not sure really what you need but doubt if you need all that stuff. Youd need a trailer to carry it all but i think just the usuall paper work ete is all you need.Have a nice time and good luck, watch out for all those french as well??.:heyhey: :heyhey:

See edited quote.
This reminds me of an amusing trip, in which dad got lost to Auchan, and we ended up in Dunquirk! He wasted a considerable amount of petrol - and petrol goes quickly in 147's!
Noteworthy things:
- You'll be charged #1.50 GBP to take money out of ATMs (both with my HSBC and Lloyds cards) (Nationwide users are free).
- Many toilets are still unisex over there, and not pleasent
- Forget going to shops between 12pm and 2pm as they're all stuffing their faces.
- You can't buy Telegraph's out there, although I noticed a The Mirror in Calais ;) (likely to be dropped by a Briton)
Enjoy!
P.S: I personally prefer Belgium to France and we often drive to Belgium from France - much nicer (but you have to pay for loo usage over there)
And my HSBC Switch/Maestro was swallowed in a Belgium ATM when I was there last - just before Xmas.
I'm off to France next Friday, or we may even go to Belgium.

Oh yes, carry your licence with you - none of this "go to your preferred police station within 7 days and here's a producer" lark, over there.

Headlamp converters are definately polite, you really dazzle other drivers without them at night.
I also took the GB sticker - as I don't have a euro number plate - warning triangle and spare bulbs. How much effort is it to get these really? I still carry them in the car when driving in England.
And I second the carry your license with you point.
