Following a conversation today at work does anyone else :

a) Sort smarties into seperate colours before eating them
b) Seperate the "orangy bit" fromt he sponge on Jaffa cakes
c) Lick all the flavour of crisps before eating the crisp bit
d) Sort Revels and eat the ones you don't like first
e) Smash flakes into a powder then pour them out of the packet down your throat

Never done this myself but my niece used to do this when she was a toddler BUT she would then put the crisps back into the packet minus all the flavour but with plenty of added saliva and then offer the crisps to people - strangely enough no-one would share her crisps with her:gag: :D

What about nibbling your way round a malteser, until you've only got the honeycomb bit left, then you have to finish it by sucking, not chomping?

I do that as well. Also biting the biscuit off both sides of a custard cream until you have a nice oblong of synthetic gunk. (Cheap ones are the very best). Mmmm mmm!

Minstrels are a challenge. You have to bite them into a square, which is harder than you think. Rewarding though, in the long-term.

i have never- a) Sort smarties into seperate colours before eating them, b) Seperate the "orangy bit" fromt he sponge on Jaffa cakes, d) Sort Revels and eat the ones you don't like first, or e) Smash flakes into a powder then pour them out of the packet down your throat- these practices could imply that your workmates are slightly strange...!

I may, however, have attempted c) Lick all the flavour of crisps before eating the crisp bit. This makes the flavoured potato snack last longer and can be quite enjoyable, although I do try not to do this around other folk as it has been frowned upon in the past! cant beat a crisp buttie though!
(this has also been considered a wierd and unusual method of crisp eating!!!)

Also peeling the caramel off the top of a Mars Bar. Or the chewy bit off a Double Decker. Or the foamy bits on Haribo.

my missus does the sorting thing with all sorts of stuff, skittles, sunday dinner - she really is weird - she also tries to get her peas into straight lines....before she eats them...

I sort out my smarties into colours. I keep all the orange ones until last as they are my fav. Then I eat all the other colours one at a time but never the same colour twice in a row.

I eat the horrid Revels first too but get stuck on guessing what is coffee and what is orange centred.

I suck crunchies until my tongue bleeds.

I am really normal.

Another one I just thought of, that I do, is separating Iced Gems into biscuit bit and little icing blob, then I eat all the biscuits first followed by the icing.

I also only like gravy on the plate with mash potato, not on top of the mash itself.

Indeed euphemism.

Ok....I accidentally snorted sherbert out of a sherbert fountain once and it made my sneeze it everywhere....and that kind is a lot powdery-er than the UFO kind, you big crazy.

I have to suck Wheat Crunchies until all the flavour has gone but they still stay crunchy then I chomp them down - a packet lasts about 15 minutes eaten this way, but the other half has to eat them buy pouring them down his throat 'cause he doesn't want smelly hands. ;)

A Twix has to be eaten in the following way: 1. nibble choccie from ends and edges, 2. carefully eat caramel from top, 3. scrape choccie off bottom of biscuit with teeth, 4. eat biscuit by sucking it til all the flavour is extracted, 5. repeat with second finger.

A slice of Battenburg must be eaten by first having a taste of the marzipan, then removing the other 75% for later. Then the squares of sponge must be eaten alternately in a yellow/pink order.

I blame this behaviour on spending my childhood eating fiddly things like pomegranates. ;)

Nearly right but you gotta eat the biscuit first and save the caramel till the end cos its by far the nicest bit

I have a couple of weirdnesses :)

I just don't enjoy a cup of coffee unless it's accompanied by -

a choc ice, or
a slice of chocolate cake, or
a plain choccy digestive biscuit

and I can't face, blackberry, apple, rhubarb or goose-gob pie without cold custard. Cream is just no good, - it has to be cold custard :loopy:

Likewise with stewed plums, - they have to be chilled too.

*looks around to see who's listening*

I STILL eat M&M's by color. The red being my favorite, I save those for last. You may not be aware, but because of red dye #2, red M&M's were banned for some time in the US. A dark, dark time.

Husband thinks I'm mad as a hatter because as he pointed out, "THEY ALL TASTE THE SAME!" "JUST EAT THEM ALREADY!" "WHY DO YOU SEGREGATE THEM!"

My marriage is fine, why do you ask?

When I was a kid, I used to eat Oreo cookies by pulling them apart, scraping out the filling with my front teeth, then eating the dark cookie part. It must be genetic, because my youngest sister confessed to doing the same. When my son was small, he often refused to eat his food if say, his potatoes were touching his chicken, he would rearrange his green beans so they looked like tiny cords of wood, and stack his carrots like casino chips.

He also had a thing about putting ketchup directly onto his hamburger. I had to put ketchup on the side, and let him dip his hamburger. He's now 12, and eats like a horse. Without all the toddler melodrama thank God.

Chocolate and crisps eaten together, in the same mouthful - plain crisps or cheese and onion cos salt and vinegar doesn't work that well.
Or stick your choccie and crisps together in a bread cake. Yum.

I like the coating off crisps, but only the green pringles
I only eat twixes if i bite off both ends then suck a hot cup of tea thru it like a straw then eat it! HEAVEN!
I leave the orangey bit from jaffa cakes out and usually give them to my boyfriend whos usually like "what the hell is that?"
:hihi:

This is definately an eating obsessive compulsive disorder thread.

Sucking the flavour out of crisps might be nice for the eater, but for the onlooker, is hideous. An ex of mine did this. :gag: :gag: :gag:

I like to put vinegar on crisps, especially walkers cheese and onion,I have always done it, dont know why, just love vinegar I suppose.chocolate fingers have to be used as straws to suck up coffee(bit ends off).My friend and I used to put the old Anglo pink bubblies or bazooka joes on our mouths with a packet of parma violets as well, a lovely crunchy mess...yum...

I too have to take the chocolate and orange stuff off a jaffa cake as I eat it, then I nibble round the edge of the sponge, till it's all gone.

I also liked eating jelly cubes... and I used to like to dissolve a lump of dry Smash mashed potato on my tongue.

weird? me? naaaah!

ha

anyone ever 'got into' eating the top layer of a mars bar...followed by the chocolate layer, the challenge being to leave a pristine layer of nougat.

nice.

fingerprints an added bonus.

Put Cadbury's chocolate fingers into the mouth sideways. Squeeze cheeks together (no hands) until the biscuits cracks. Then eat. Compulsive and painful.

It used to be said that eating Jelly Cubes made the white bits on one's fingernails go away, I don't know if it was true.

The orange smarties are the only ones with any flavour - i.e. orange.
My daughter, bless her heart sometimes seperates out all the orange ones and feeds them to me. If that's not love, I don't know what is.

My gran encouraged me to eat jelly cubes, telling me it'd strengthen my nails, again, not certain what foundation, if any it had in facts...?

Some of this reminds me of the visitor to the Old People's Home, who saw a dish of almonds on the bedside table.
"could I have some of those?" he asked.
"Help yourself, dearie" said theold lady.
He had eaten half the nuts when she said "Now all my teeth are gone, all I can do is suck the chocolate off them"

I do b) and e). Okay, with e), I used to do this to a packet of noodles. So you get a bombay mix kind of thing, and it'll amuse me all day long. :hihi:
Jaffa cakes is definitely designed to play with before eating ! :D

Don't really have revels or smarties... I'll prob figure out the colours before eating it too. lol.
