Carlo Little aka Carl O'Neil Little has left the departure lounge. Carlo was the original drummer with Screaming Lord Sutch's Savages. Anybody that saw the group in the early 60s stood in awe at Carlo's drumming. Probably, as is the case, he will be remembered for what he didn't do!
He turned down the opportunity to become the drummer with the up and coming Rollin' Stones. Brian Jones approached him after a gig at London's Marquee club.
The Screaming Lord Sutch track, 'Til The Following Night' shows Carlo off at his best.
He taught a young Keith Moon to play the drums and charged him 10/- per session.
He carved out a nice little earner for himself associating himself with Slow Hand Clapton, Cyril Davis and becoming a Flowerpot Man, the late Long John Baldry and Rod Stewart to name a few.
The last time I saw him he was the drummer to Freddie 'Fingers' Lee although he had accompanied Carl Perkins, B.B.King and Roscoe Gordon on their European tours.
Sadly missed.
