We have telephone directories and Thomsons and the like. I would like to obtain a directory of local, and national, e-mail addresses.

Does anybody know if one exists and if so, is it dedicated to one profession, area or such. At this stage I am not too worried if it is trade only, companies etc. and no private addresses.

Years ago, when the Internet was young and unicorns still could be seen in the enchanted forest in the grounds of The Towers, there were White and Yellow Page e-mail directories maintained in the US.

However, I don't believe that any such directories exist any more due to the rapid turnover of e-mail addresses and the ease with which electronic versions of those listings could be used for spamming.

I may be wrong, but the best bet is that you will have to pay for validated lists.
