scallyali2 08-08-2005, 21:30
Just wondering whether anyone has ever met Green Day before...or ever been to one of their concerts? Im going to see them in Paris in November!!

I know a Graham Green, is he related
I've seen Darren Day on tv. And Robin. But I've never met them.
Has anyone been to Matlock Bath?
SilentStatic 09-08-2005, 20:38 I saw Greenday at a rock festival in Nottm a few years back. Good enough, although about half their time on stage seemed to consist of getting other people on stage and giving a guitar to one of them.
One of the people they gave a guitar to was my friends 15 yr old daughter earlier this year. This then got her featured in a glossy teen magazine!
Fantomas 09-08-2005, 20:48 I haven't met them but a friend of mine was house manager at one of their gigs a number of years ago.
Apparently the drummer is an A1 prat, gave my mate a load of hassle and verbal just for doing his job, trying to be 'punk rock' in front of his hangers-on.
CherryNicole 10-08-2005, 02:49 I haven't met them (ggrrr Billie Joe you will be mine) but I saw them at Milton Keynes in June and I thought they were amazing. They really put on a good show, lots of bangs and flashy lights too! The image of Billie Joe thrusting the stage will be with me forever :D *sighs*

mmmm.they seem like they could be k**bs!!! when I go to Paris - have you any ideas how I could meet them (i.e Hotels or backstage)- Im pretty good a blagging but dont think it will work for them!!
I watched Green Day years back, before Dookie was released. Im not sure you could get their stuff here unless it was import at the time.
Anyway, they were touring kerrrpluunk I think, so you probably could. There was only about 100-150 people there.
After the gig they were A1 pricks. Trying so hard to be "punk" and just looking like idiots. And as already mentioned, especially the drummer.
Grown men spitting on each other...that is soooooooooooo 1977 ;)

One of my friends' (Scouser Lee) claim to fame is; a few years ago when Greenday were playing at the University (lower refectory) my friend was in the bar, when some d1ckhead started showing off and getting a bit lairy, shoving, shouting and generally being an arse.
Lee took it upon himself to sort this out and punched said d1ckhead in the face, who then dis-appeared.
The next time this chap was seen he was sat behind the drum kit on stage.

Hmm, there seems to be a pattern developing here! :)
