Don't know if this has been a thread before but I noticed about 3 weeks ago that the new car park at the bottom of the market in town was closed and it looked like they were doing something on the land where Sheaf Market used to be.
Today I was in town and wassurprised, then annoyed to see that the new car park was now like a building site.
What is Sheffield City Council playing at? The car park was built with council tax money 2-3years ago? and now they are trashing it, plus they are doing us out of a place to park.
Before anybody comments about driving into town,I have to as my wife is disabled.

You will find that these sites have always been earmarked for development.
There has been a period while a variety of different properties have been closed/purchased and planning permission cleared.

During that time it has made a lot of sense to use the space for car parking.
Now that things are "in train" the construction will go ahead and the car park facility will go.

As sorry as I am to lose a handy car park, all these proposals have been public knowledge for a long time and I can only repeat my suggestions for everyone concerned to glance once a week at the planning applications lists on the Sheffield Council website.
