View Full Version : Kittens for sale in sheffield ?
Hi everyone,
Just wonder where I can get a pet kitten from in Sheffield, or if there are any breeders you can recommend?
Thanks
Krystal
Check out the Thornberry as in the existing sanctuary thread. They had kittens last week.
uncleheed 08-08-2005, 14:57 Try RSPCA.Thats where our 2 came from.
Cost £70,which sounds alot, but, all vaccinations are in as is nuetering/spaying,which all sensible pet owners should have done.
sorry to sound thick, but where is the Thornberry sanctuary? is it in sheffield?
Its at North Anston so you will need a car (or someone else with a car)

I think its around £30ish to adopt (that was how much mine was but that did include removing two of his prized possessions the poor love....)
fruit&nut 08-08-2005, 15:27 the cats and kittens are £70 to adopt from thornburry.
SOUTH YORKSHIRE ANIMAL RESCUE, based in Walkley, Sheffield 6 usually have kittens and adult cats in need of homes. The minimum donation is 55.00 but this is inclusive of vaccinations and spaying/neutering and a weeks supply of food.
All animal charities will carry out home visits in advance of rehoming a cat or kitten.
SYAR can be contacted on 0114 234 9656 ( office is open between 11am - 5pm Mon to Sat). Some of the animals are looked after by volunteer 'fosterers' so can often be viewed outside these hours.
hope this is helpful

Try this website Krystal - I found it to be very useful.

Hi
South Yorkshire Animal Rescue don't have a website yet. like all the other animal chartities mentioned by contributors to this issue, they will help you all the way from choosing to general help and advise. For instance it is always best to stick to the food that has been used at the shelter, at least to begin with and try to get the same cat litter as kittens get used to the surface and smell. Charity shelters usually have everything you need on sale as well so you can help them raise a few pounds as well when you get your kitten.
Another great advantage of adopting from a rescue centre is the inclusion of veterinary treatment ie vaccinations and spaying or neutering, this will save you many pounds as well!
Please be vary careful if going down the road of buying from free ads papers etc. Many people are only interested in making a few pounds and often breed litter after litter for this purpose. If a problem does arrise with health or anything else you will be on your own and you may end up with an enormous vets bill!
South Yorks Animal Rescue have kittens available for rehoming now, as do the RSPCA Shelter Spring Street and Cats Shelter, Broomhall. Info 0114 234 9656
Thanks POB,
Definately going to have a look there, know any good vets around S2 area? or center of town is not too far from me.. just want to be prepare..
Bring on the weekend!
Krystal
Not sure about S2 but Highfield Vet Centre on London Road (yes I guess this is S2!) seem to be highly recommended, they are also the RSPCA vet. Their number is 0114 255 4663
Hope you find your kitten soon, there are two really nice ones at SYAR ready for rehoming, b&w short haired apx 12 weeks.
Best regards
Phil
