Has anyone been ?

Do you have to pay to get in (I'm not bothered if it's worth seeing) ?

What kind of plats do they have there ?

Have been, pleasant but nothing exceptional. Always seems to be very quiet.

Worth a visit if you combine this with a walk around Whirlow Brook Park which is practically next door.

Worth a nosey no fee ( well we didn't pay). Was lots of huge rhododendrons and big rhubarb type plants when we last went. Dunno what is in 'flower' at present.

Only a wee place but one of those Sheffield surprises in that it exists and is still there. Go a for walk through the woods and then to Whirlow Hall for a scone and cuppa or an icelolly. But just mind all the doggie poop in if you walk through the wood.

I've posted this on another thread but then found this one, which seems more appropriate.

What on earth is going on at Whinfell Quarry Gardens? Not only have they ripped all the rhododendrons out, but most of the other vegetation is gone as well. You can even see the blocks of flats at the top now from the quarry. All the mystery and little jewel oasis is gone :(

Does anyone know who's responsible for these acts of vandalism? And why?
