The Lottery Fund have awarded Samaritans a grant to help convert our new premises - it is for a smaller amount than the one we were turned down for last time but it will help get the essential work done.

We're not out of the woods yet as we still need to find funds to help with running costs and so on, but at least this means we will be able to carry on providing a service and are not faced with closing down.

Thanks to everyone on the Forum for all their support -

Well done to you all Katya, you must be really pleased to have got at least some of the grant you asked for.

I can't find a web site for the Sheffield Samaritans, do you have one?

I found the national web site at http://www.samaritans.org/ but can't find one specifically for Sheffield  although it could be my age you know :P

I did come across this useful web site though whilst looking for the Sheffield Samaritans site, and this may be worth passing to anyone whose first language isn't English.http://www.multikulti.org.uk/agencies/english/yorkshire-humberside/9006/

Good show!

If you do need a website sorting, let me know. I'm doing a couple of 'freebies' at the moment for charities so if you want hosting / basic development give me a shout.

Also, If you've got that shopping list that you were after, I'm still waiting for it.... ;)

Joe :)

Great news! It'd have been a shame if you'd have had to close. I'm amazed they didn't give you a grant before now, but i'm glad they finally have so you can at least keep going!

Wel done, and good luck! :)
