I just started watching the new series last night and it was great to read through what everyone else was saying about the housemates whilst I'm playing 'catch-up'.

(I don't usually start watching until week 3 or so when everyone has calmed down a bit and started being themselves).

Don't think so Kristian....Last year I can only recall Dan and the previous 2 years no-one was gay at all....so the last time they was more than one gay in the village was Josh and Brian!!

I can understand Big Brother cutting the live feed from time to time during the day, but after 9-10 at night?

It's so frustrating when an intelligent, thoughtful conversation has finally got going between the housemates, (it HAS been known to happen on occasion!) and suddenly the feed switches to an inane chat about carrots or peas in the kitchen.

It's like an alarm buzzer goes off in the Control Room - "Red Alert, Red Alert, intelekshual /sofishticated chat on Camera 2 - Destroy!" Can't have any finking on Big Brother! :D

Perhaps I'm totally deluded, but one of the things I always hope to enjoy on BB are decent conversations. They have people on there from such varied backgrounds, to get their differing opinions would be fascinating, it seems to me. A bit like on the Forum, I guess.

But the producers won't let it happen. Perhaps they think the average BB viewer wouldn't be able to follow an adult conversation? It's a real shame :(

I think that the housmenates using names/companys is the mian reason for it.

As for the swearing why dont they put a parental block on it where we can input our Sky pin number and therefore access uninterrupted viewing!!

At last a proper task.

Dr Big asked a housemate to come to the diary room, Roberto went and became Matron he picked three nurses, Vanessa, Saskia and Science.
When the ambulance siren sounds one of the other housemates who are now patients, must go to the diary room within 1 minute and the matron and nurses will do first aid on them.
The siren can go at any time day or night and uniforms must be worn.

At least it will keep them on their toes and not bitching all the time.

Of course it's right that BB protects the privacy of people not taking part in Big Brother from being gossiped about, defamed, slandered, etc. I have absolutely no problems at all with them doing this - I would be shocked if they didn't.

HOWEVER - I simply don't believe this is the case most of the time when BB cuts the live feed, and I think BB just uses people's privacy as a cover-all to get away with it. If you want to know what was being said, you've got to tune in to Channel 4, and bump their ratings up.

If an intelligent conversation is going on regarding that type of subject, it often seems to get cut just as it's getting really interesting, as if the producers don't want their audience to be stimulated into 'Thinking'.

When Davina first addressed the house tonight, she called the housemates names in order, and in between, you could hear the crowd reaction.

Yeah, I thought that too....

Davina normally reassures evictees as you say, espec when there's been a lot of booing, but she seemed very offhand with Lesley. It suddenly struck me in the middle of the interview "Davina doesn't like her"..... I'm not the best person in the world with body language, so it must have been pretty obvious.

Although I normally don't like it at all when housemates gets booed on BB, I thought Lesley's case was the exception as she was such a bully. I don't like bullies, and it was good she got a taste of her own medicine. Perhaps Davina thought so too....

I have to say I warmed more to Lesley during her post eviction interview. Yeah she could be a bully but she didn't really make excuses or try and wiggle out of it when she talked to Davina.

OMG did you see the caffufle over nominations tonight...I felt sorry for Craig as dispite his protest he wasn't pointing the finger at Saskia to be out.

I'm very well aware that this is the situation, thank you, Mini. I choose to occasionally watch junk programming because I want to. I know it's junk and designed to keep the masses comatose and unthinking - but I like to watch it anyway. Because I do this doesn't mean I don't question the world around me - I certainly do - one activity has no connection to the other.

There is nothing 'clever' about Big Brother - except perhaps for the editing that goes into producing their nightly Channel 4 compilation - that is a work of creativity bearing very little relation to what goes on in the House in reality.

It can, however, be very entertaining, and it is nice to take a break from the ups and downs of your own life occasionally, and look in on other people's for a little while. It gets you out of yourself, much like reading a novel.

Totally agree with Shiesh - At first I didn't really like Derek and loved Maxwells sense of humour, but now I'm totally the opposite.

I like Derek & Roberto because they're trying to teach the ill-educated mob in the house how to 'at least' talk! save food etc . .

Maxwell just gets on my nerves now because he is being controlled by Saskia. She is so annoying it's untrue at the moment. She knows she has influence in the house over the outspoken ones and this is making her feel more powerful and have less respect for others.
