I've finally figured it out! After months of ripping back and other so called knitting doings, I have discovered I have wool weavels.
The little monkeys keep eating my wool even as I am knitting. I can't believe the cheek of them. Does anyone else have this problem?
I have looked on various knitting sites and cannot find any solution to them at all. I am so flustered.
We have 2 dogs but don't think they brought them in.
Perhaps B J has something to do with it........:suspect:

Would that be moth larvae? Go have a search around and see if the photos on line match what you have. I've never had them but I've had a few scares where my freezer has been full of wool for a few weeks (freezing kills the ones with legs but not the eggs so you freeze them, thaw it and let the next lot hatch and then freeze them again). They fly in as moths, lay eggs in your wool and then the larvae eat your wool, turn into moths and spread further.
It's serious, especially if you have wool carpets because if they get in there you'll have a hard time getting rid of them. You'll need to deal with your knitting bag, the settee (vacuum in all the creases) and any wool you have in storage that might have been affected.

oh my life 'Moth Larvae? I would've never taken up knitting if I knew there were so many perrils. It was so noiticeable when I was knitting with Nerdy nanna in starbucks last week. everytime I did a row they'd eaten the odd stitch or two and left me with ripping back and starting yet again.
What's BJ?
You should know mrs sherakapod. You threatened me with him quite a few times recently. Just after I'd nearly poked my eye out with a knitting needle. :(

But I've been good?
I don't know, moths are only a couple of steps down from plagues of locusts in my book. Have you got all your wool in the freezer yet? Checked all your knitted Christmas gifts for signs of damage? Sorted through the wardrobe to check the woolies are ok? Looked in the porch to see if the hats, scarves and gloves are fluttering?

They haven't been around my fingerless gloves yet maybe they have gone away on their own?
