Disgo Net Broswer 3000

....it has very.....very low specs and currently runs winCE which to be honest is bobbar, so im wondering if i could install a half decent version of linux (just so i can iinstall a decent web browser and a few tiny apps etc) on this 'web book' and if so which distro and how hard would it be?

ouch, an iPod touch is better spec than that thing :O

You might find that you could run a slimline linux like damn small linux, but I wouldn't expect much from it...

Ubuntu 9.04 will probably work too, but again, I wouldn't expect too much...

DSL (Damn small linux) is probably your best bet to be honest...

i would probably go for ubuntu out of the two, ive had a quick blast on DSL before and i dont really like it much, i know i wont get much out of it, but at least i could install a proper browser within ubuntu instead of the version that comes on the winCE which doesnt even support flash websites....

Waste of time. 64MB RAM is your problem. Damn Small Linux or Slackware-10.2 might work reasonably well.. so long as you like browsing in elinks, which is no better than WinCE is giving you now. With a nice old 2.4 kernel you *might* get a vaguely usable X running inside 64MB, but dont even bother with a recent 2.6 kernel like you'd find in any current distro, it's a terminal or nothing.
